I've never been diagnosed, but tons of people think I have depression and regularly tell me that I should be on medication.

I think I'm just not a happy person tbqh. I won't take medication because I'm afraid it will make me do violent things.

I take 20mg Lexapro. If I don't, I stop functioning properly. Go complete recluse, stop taking care of myself, and think of suicide daily.

With it, I lead a normal-ish life.

I've never been diagnosed. I don't let people know when I'm feeling fucked up because I have too many people depending on me to deliver, lol. I laugh and joke to cope with real life.

I suspected that I had depression for a long time but never looked into it. I finally broke down and decided to take some. Part of the reason I didn't want to was because I felt that my stress was helping me become more creative and stuff as a defense mechanism for all the bullshit around me. So I kinda wanted to harness that. I don't think I need that to really grow anymore so I'm good.

I took a buddy's pills for a month it made me think things that i would not normally violent thoughts so i quit immediately. I think there is more side effects than they are letting on. And yes i know taking a buddys pills is illegal and my problem but he had the same synopsyse as me.

I used to be that way. Until it got to the point where just getting out of bed took all the effort I had for the day.

Who told you you had these disorders the same people prescribing the pills. I have worked at a max psycology ward i have seen people turned into zombies ten pills a day there are answers out there they are not in pills.

I'm afraid to take them. I never felt they were trustworthy, but it does work for a new friend that I work with. It keeps her emotional levels in check. But I still don't want to take them because I feel that it will just make me emotionally worse - like more suicidal or violent.

I tried medication, but it gave all kinds of side effects. I was in therapy too at the time, but dealing with that, my life, and the constant cycle on new meds and a different set of side effects every other week made things worse. Once the doctor accidentally canceled my next appointment and the therapist said I was a waste of his time, I called it quits.

I really struggle to get out of the house and have a lot of invasive thoughts. I was also on anxiety medication, and it helped control my panic attacks, but I've been off them too. I'm struggling to find a job and I don't know what to do. Ugh...

Does it help?

It definitely Ely has side effects. Notably sexually. But the tradeoff is worth it to me. Also, not every med or dose works for everyone. I had to try 3 meds before finding the one that worked. High dose too lol.
