Nothing has ever ruined a game that was otherwise so good for me like that. Everything about Metal Gear Solid 2 was already perfect, and they just had to go out of their way to make a stupid decision to make you play as the most unlikable character (raiden), instead of the most badass character ever (Snake).

I think the fact that mgs 2 was the first one I played this didn't bother me like it did everyone else. Thought it was still a great game

That game is really old. And it was my first Metal Gear Solid so i honestly think it was fine. Playing as two characters nothing wrong with that. Maybe if you played more and gave it more a chance instead of whining then you might like it. What i liked about it was the stealth sections, freezing people was my favorite part of the game

She was not unlikeable. A cliche maybe, ever seen Titanic?. Jack, jack. It sorta feels like that in Metal Gear Solid format. She was at best ok, but not wow but she was not horrible. I have seen much worse.

In what way? Was it that she intruded sometimes mixing personal life with the mission?. It just sounds like petty bickering. I mean i like ironic jokes such as the president assuming Raiden was a girl, so i get those jokes its fun in that. But some people take it way too seriously.

People who didn't mind playing as Raiden instead of Snake are the same type of people who like Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The Last Jedi is the first movie I've seen that makes me feel the way I felt when I played MGS2. It was so easy not to screw up, but they did it INTENTIONALLY. They went OUT OF THEIR WAY to just mess with everyone. NOT GOOD. I don't want to get off topic, but...not having a backstory for Snoke and just killing him off...Luke dying because he meditated too hard...Luke throwing away the light saber at the beginning...Poe telling Hux a "your mom" joke in the opening scene...the useless sidequest with Finn and Rose...

I guess that's a lot of things they intentionally screwed up, instead of just one big thing like in MGS2. I guess it felt the same way in that it was an ABSOLUTE BETRAYAL to the fans and what they WANTED. You didn't give them what they wanted. You gave them crap. And in the case of MGS2, it was a crap lead character. AND DRAGS DOWN THE QUALITY OF THE GAME.

Raiden was not trivial. He seriously ruined the game for me, and Kojima KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING. He KNEW people wanted to play as Snake, but he gave them someone else. Just to mess with people. The same way they are doing with Star Wars.
