Like why is it that they don't see it as a problem? Kinda sad when the younger generations are devastated by it which adults or an older generation just ignores. I've never really understood this gun culture idea to be honest. Outside wars outside USA maybe.

Well being killed is kinda reasonable to speak out against if you ask me. Would sorta be easy to go in apathy mode if gun culture are that important... meanwhile boom. So yeah... kinda makes sense. The love for gun is really weird

Evidently Marco Rubio's point is that we should deal with the motivation to shoot schools before infringing on our rights. Which is logical. And also goes against the interests of some of the children when some of the shootings are because of bullying by the children in those schools.

Ehhh...

Here's the primary problem. When these shootings and the like happen they tend to target the adult gun owners whom know how to handle a gun more-or-less responsibly and bought their guns legally passing everything like background checks. My mom owns a gun, but I know she'd never use it to kill someone outside of self-defense and I hold no intention of using it even if someone punched me (so long as I hold no reason to think my life is on the line). Yet people act like we're basically one PTSD short of shooting up a muffin kiosk.

Recently (like, last night) a nearby city voted to confiscate guns that they couldn't trace. Or, in other words, guns that they couldn't confiscate in the first place because they don't know where they are. All while saying that there have been more victims of mass shootings than in every war America has fought in combined. That's not logic. That's fearmongering and posturing.

Maybe there is a gun problem, maybe it does need addressing, but it certainly doesn't need to be addressed by politicians who can't tell the difference between a semi and a full auto or grasp what a .22 even means.

Gun control works well in some countries, but it wouldn't work in the USA. Even if you disregard the constitutional issues involved, there are so many guns "off the radar" so to speak, and the border is so porous, that guns would continue to flow into the country anyway. The net result would be that criminals have guns while law-abiding citizens don't. It's not the law-abiding citizens we need to worry about, it's those with criminal intent. Even if you did succeed in keeping guns out of those people's hands, people determined to do violence will find another way. The real problem here is mentally ill people not getting the help they need. Getting at-risk people adequate medical treatment would do a lot more to prevent mass-shootings than enacting gun control laws that punish law-abiding citizens and aren't guaranteed to stop criminals from acquiring them.
