That's because the burden of proof for insanity is much lower than reality. Probably because insanity is only really a legal term. Mentally ill people such as those who are schizophrenic, schizoaffective, or some other disorder with psychotic features aren't necessarily dangerous. When the legal system is talking about someone who is insane, they mean that they were basically not in their right mind and thus not legally responsible for their actions. Of course it's extremely hard to prove. People have pretended to have Dissociative Identity Disorder just to get a lighter sentence. Psychopaths really just have a personality disorder which are largely untreatable unlike mental illness. ... Copied to Clipboard!

The issue is so politicized and both sides are guilty of manipulating the facts to sound better for their own agenda. If it were possible to find an unbiased oversight committee to weigh in on gun violence and present everything clearly with in-depth statistics that were irrefutable, and everyone magically agreed to shut up and honor the findings, there may be a resolution. That'll never happen though.
I understand where both sides are coming from though, at least with certain points, but there will be no gun control without replacing the government in a coup. To the decent people with firearms, it's like getting a game full of shoddy DRM code to stop pirates, who find workarounds anyway... Where I change gears on the issue is that it's really fucking hard to go on a killing spree wielding a video game, so you can't treat it as carelessly. I like the way Canada handles gun control. My dad had a bunch of guns (he sold them because they never got used), and some of my friends have several (mainly for hunting). Gun-related homicides here are almost entirely bad guys killing each other so nobody really cares. The odd time it spills over, there's hell to pay. There was a recent thing in the news about how these drunk thugs were on a crime spree out in the country, with a loaded gun, and one got his head blown off confronting a guy defending his family. The natives are all crying racism that the guy was found not guilty of murder by a jury, and King Dicknose (Trudeau) pulled a Trump and questioned the validity of the verdict, well outside his bounds. The guy was a fucking scumbag, but it's harder to admit that among his family/friends/SJWs... If he didn't have a weapon, he'd have been the victim of another crime they were committing along their travels that day. No police are close enough to help. If guns were banned outright, he or his loved ones could've been shot rather than the person that apparently deserved to be. --- "message parlor" ? do you mean the post office ? - SlayerX888 ... I find it hard to believe that you can have a sick obsession with guns. If you're interested in guns, why would you do something tgat would get you imprisoned and your guns removed? And if you're interested in guns, what has shooting people got to do with it? Guns are pretty cool things mechanically.
