Like every gun control bill its just going to randomly go away. Like it or not people don't vote on gun control. People simply have an "its not going to happen to me" mentality with it. The NRA will throw money at candidates on either side that don't support gun control, and since gun control isn't an issue people vote on, serious gun control has little chance of ever getting into law.

they really just need to hold the senate. there's probably 30-40 automatic votes no matter who is in office because of all the rural states out there. you're probably not going to see someone from Montana who's anti-gun get elected.

It isn't that the NRA spends a ton of money, which they do, it's that the vast majority of their paying members and those who don't pay but consider themselves members are fanatical about voting as the NRA tells them to.
