i told him to bring a cashier's check for $5k when we meet.

if he doesn't want to pay that amount he can wait to obtain his keys until our 2016-2017 lease is up on the 25th and then we'll take him to court. if he changes the locks during that time it'll be a wrongful eviction as our lease term is still in effect regardless of whether we have possession of the house as our primary residence.

he doesn't even have a dang ol' key to the house he bought.

i'm really nervous because i hate confrontation like this.

the guy who bought the house we were renting didn't realize there were tenants in there and wanted to break our lease early. i said that's fine but you'll need to pay all of our moving expenses because we signed a lease that runs until feb 2019 already. he said "okay well send me a final number" so we get all moved and shit and he says he never agreed to pay for all that.

this guy is a realtor who just wants to flip and sell the house. he told us he's not a "landlord" even though by purchasing the house with our intact lease it legally transfers to him. so he refused to help up with a plumbing problem in the home because he's not a "24 hour hotline" and said we caused the plumbing issue by clogging the drain even though the drain is clear. it's just been a mess.

so i paid for all the expense for us to move and we're out of the house and he's like lol jk i never said that.

okay well lol jk i have all the text messages and i'll see you in court if you don't want to pay our actual moving expenses and refund our security deposit.

he doesn't even have a key to the house somehow so he's at our mercy to receive one. unless he wants to change the locks and then he's in for a bad time.

yeah plus courts dont take kindly to this type of landlord abuse and could potentially award me punitive damages for inconvenience just to punish him.

i've bent over backwards for this dick. the least he can do is pay us what he owes us.

this wouldn't even be a small claims issue because the threshold in AZ is only $3,500 and i have incurred more than that.

yeah when i told him i'm not going to accept any less than $5k and if he doesn't want to sign my release i will file a lawsuit against him he said we don't need to get combative. i was like man you're the one who has been combative this whole time and it's getting ridiculous.

if he refuses i'm just going to ask him point blank if he thinks a court will believe i vacated that property at my own expense out of the kindness of my heart for his investment lmao it just is ludicrous.

well when we went to sweep and clean the kitchen the sink and dishwasher were all backed up again because he didn't want to send a plumber even though we told him it wasn't the drain. so he can have fun dealing with that problem.
