Despite this topic, I'm really enjoying Hakata, Place Further than the Universe, Kokkoku, and FranXX on pretty equal footing at this point. Really hard to say. At least, Universe has been the most consistent in quality.

I think the last couple of episodes have put Pop Team Epic over the top for me. This show is firing on all cylinders now. I think it's insanely creative, with a variety of funny segments and (for the past couple of episodes) not a single dud to be found. Plus we received the glorious gift of Hellshake Yano!

If you don't like "random spastic comedy" shows, then you probably won't like Pop Team Epic. But if you do like "random spastic comedy" shows, then Pop Team Epic might be one of the greatest of all time when it's all said and done.

series shoudl have ended after the 4 episode arc, it gets really fucking slow after that, ameagari and the antartic girls are a much better grippign and consistent watch, Devilman Crybaby also shits on tonkotsu, but the first 4 eps ARE really good.

It has dipped since then, but I'm still enjoying it. You mentioned Ameagari--the latest episode was absolutely drop-dead beautifully done.

I'm also liking Violet Evergarden more and more. The more episodes it puts out, the more it pulls together this really great character development.

I'll be honest, I stopped tonkotsu after the fifth but I may give it another shot, ameagari is fucking amazing every single time and the only shwo that makes me look up mashup reactions because it makes me feel so many things holy shit, and I agree that the latest episode was nothing short of masterful, I love how they handle the manager with hsi internal monologues in what I guess is the only wat to not make thsi relationship creepy as fuck, just wonderful.

Antartics chciks and ameagari are both tied as number 1 for me, nothing else really matters, although I really enjoy 7 deadly sins and I watched only 1 ep of Violet but it has not grabbed me yet, I have been meaning to watch more since it is actually really damn pretty tho.

PS: I went and read the thread after posting this and no one else is mentioning ameagari? what the fuck people get on with that shit!

Honestly, Sora Yori will likely be the winner at the end of season. It was my claim at the beginning, it wavered with various episodes of Kokkoku, Darling, and Hakata Tonkotsu. The latter three all had ups and downs, but Sora Yori has been consistently great with its highest point being better than the others at this point in time.

And yeah, man, it's sad I've hardly seen any talk about Ameagari. How they do the manager and the growing relationship is thoughtfully done.

I'm dropping Fate/Extra, and I'm pretty close to dropping Beatless as well. Fate/Extra's story is just not keeping me interested at all, and Umu cuteness alone isn't enough for me to keep watching. Episode 7 was just flat-out boring, so I'm done with it. Beatless is slowly starting to improve after its dull start, but unless it shows some serious progress in the next couple of episodes, I'm most likely dropping it as well. It's a shame, since Beatless was my most highly anticipated show coming into this season.

I'm considering dropping Fate Extra because of how much of a travesty Alice and Nursery's adaption was. I can't remember the last time an episode of some animu pissed me off that much. Considering they were the part of Extra I wanted to see more than anything else...
Apocrypha and Extra suffer by making the most boring shit characters in existence the main characters and every interesting character gets the middle finger.

Hakuno was actually funny in the game but in classic Fate anime adaption they had to make them boring as shit for self insert Otaku manchildren. Sieg, Jeanne, Hakuno, and Nero can all die in a fire.

Anyways, back on topic... right now, Katana Maidens in the lead for anime of the season, with Pop Team Epic very close behind. Also, Beatless just saved itself from being dropped with its first top-to-bottom great episode. Hopefully it can keep up the momentum for a while.
