President Donald Trump's approval rating jumped to a seven-month high on Friday following a State of the Union address that was widely received as a success.

The Rasmussen Reports daily tracking poll shows 49 per cent of likely U.S. voters believe Trump is doing a good job in the White House. The same number disagree.

The last Time the poll put Trump's number so high was in mid-June of last year.

The 49 per cent number puts him above his performance level in the 2016 election, when 46.1 per cent of voters chose him over Hillary Clinton and a handful of minor candidates.

Look what happens when Americans see what this president is actually about directly instead of getting the lies from the media!

But the media says he's satan and that the apocalypse would surely happen the day he was elected.

There are facts, like unemployment numbers, like the stock market, like consumer confidence, that cannot be denied. He's doing what WE elected him to do, and he's been more successful at it than any president I've ever seen. At this time in Obama's presidency, everything was still complete shit and he blamed it on Bush. Bush this, Bush that. A real leader gets out there and leads.

Honestly, if Trump could just stop with the stupid tweets, he'd maintain a 50%+ approval rating. Most of the criticisms people have of him have little to do with policy and mostly to do with personality.

Too true. Many people equate his job performance numbers with being his supporter and that's not accurate. I know many people who support him but they don't "approve" of a lot of the unprofessional shit that he says.

I'll just drop the other good news here rather than making another topic, because it's related.

January jobs surge 200,000, beating expectations

https://www.yahoo.com/news/us-jobs-engine-gathers-speed-january-wages-rise-155240185.html

Also, wages rise to their highest point since 2009

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-02-02/u-s-added-200-000-jobs-in-january-wages-rise-most-since-2009

So again, the media can demonize this man until they're blue in the face, but the American people are seeing the positive effects.

Why do you even say shit like this when you clearly don't know what you're talking about? Obama was at 48% for the same time period of his presidency, end of January 2010.

It would definitely do a lot to help, but I don't know if it would do that much.

that that is interesting since I'm not sure what that implies

U-6 is counting people who work part time but would like to work full time. U-3 is just unemployed workers. Since the long-term UE also went down, my natural inclination was to assume that people who were unemployed a long time got part-time jobs even though they wanted full time jobs. But that would cause U-3 to go down too, I think.

So I guess maybe more part-timers want to work full-time now? Or I'm just not thinking it through clearly.

Or full time workers are getting downgraded to part time work?
