A teenage girl was taken into custody after a shooting at a Los Angeles middle school on Thursday, authorities said.

The gunfire wounded at least two students a 15-year-old boy, who is in critical condition, and a 15-year-old girl, who is in fair condition, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

The violence in Los Angeles follows two school shootings in the U.S. last week. A 16-year-old suspect opened fire at a Texas high school on Jan. 22, wounding a teenage girl. And a 15-year-old boy opened fire at a Kentucky high school, killing two students and wounding 18 other people.

That's absolutely impossible. It is illegal for a child to have a gun, LA has very strict gun laws and schools are a gun free zone.

This is clearly fake news because the enemies of freedom have been telling me for years that criminals finish the law.

When the millions upon millions of illegal guns magically disappear. But good luck on that, would be a lot of dead cops if they went looking for those weapons.

And I hope the survivors are alright and hopefully this little demon girl doesnt just get a slap on the wrist.

Some middle schools count 9th grade but I have no idea with this. Or they were born real early or are just dumb.

Then this situation could have been made worse. If a teacher with a gun treated this as an active shooter more damage could have been done either by the admin or by the shooter shooting back.

We don't have a gun problem. And as soon as our government is able to figure out how to keep contraband out of prisons (i.e. small and completely enclosed environments that they have absolute control over) then I might be willing to entertain a discussion on how they can effectively keep bad people from misusing and illegally acquiring guns and why I should be subjected to further restrictions in pursuit of that.

Completely agree. The fact that you have to go through more training and tests to drive or buy a car than you do to buy a gun is absurd to me. We understand the severity of what a careless drive can do and cars arent even intended to harm. A guns sole purpose is to cause harm to whatever its pointed at. I understand the constitution and all that but as a modern society we need to stop hiding behind that and do whats best overall. Gun safety and smarter gun laws is best overall.

Maybe. But if she didnt she got it from some place. Trace it back there. And yes, gangbangers who misuse weapons or allow minors access to them should face punishment, dont you agree? Many do. I just feel overall that should be extended to any gun owner who allows their gun to be taken and used in this way. Im not saying 25 to life but she went into a parents cabinet or just took it from their home that parent should face some sort of consequence. Is that such a crazy suggestion for better gun safety?

Yes it does. Kids are forced to take several hours of classes with an instructor, all states have age limits with regard to how and when you can drive. In order to legally drive you have to pass several tests. What did you think the bubble sheet of questions and the behind the wheel test with a dmv instructor you took was?

Yeah, I own more than one gun, including a mossberg I bought at Walmart. It is a much higher bar, you don't need to do anything to buy a gun except pay for it. With the driving test you need to pass at least two tests, one written and one skills
