the best way I can explain it is that I would be adding a new policy area to my portfolio

right now my work is exclusively in health care policy and I work under the health care director -- if I got the new job I would be working in both the health care and criminal justice arenas and I would have more ability to pursue independent projects related to those two things

That sounds exciting. Are you interested in pursuing that type of work, or is it just the raise you are interested in?

I'm much more interested in criminal justice than health care. I also just want to run this place some day (or some where similar) so getting experience in a variety of policy areas is useful in general
