Reminds me of this one j-horror short where a guy hears his neighbors having sex and starts to press his ear against the wall. The girl and guy are talking about pushing the tip in and they have to do it carefully to get the tip to turn red. There's a slightly different noise as well and a second later a drill bit pops out of the wall by the guy's head and, after it gets retracted, the neighbor disappointedly says, "Oh, I thought it would turn red that time."

2) I usually shrug it off when I hear it, which isn't terribly often when I usually have my headphones on and am listening to other things. In this case, I chose instead to make a topic sharing how amused I am by this sort of event.
