After all, a great actor or musician is exactly as qualified to discuss politics as a great plumber is. Probably less so though, because the plumber would at least be able to relate to most people.

So why, for the love of God, do these people think their masturbatory award show is a good venue to vent their hysterical champagne-progressive nonsense? Whining in front of an international audience that their seven-figure paycheck was slightly less than some dude's seven-figure paycheck?

The only solace I can take as a right-winger from their display of degeneracy, and from their worrying adoration of Hillary Clinton, is that progressives have truly learned nothing from their loss in 2016. They still believe talking down to blue collar people is a winning strategy, and that Hillary Clinton-type politicians are still viable.

Great job, guys.

Mal, you're ignoring my point that our PRESIDENT who you love, is a former celebrity with zero political experience. His ineptitude and bumbling has created confidence that "if this idiot can do it, we can too".

Id say a businessperson has a lot more political acumen than an actor.

I think this answers your question. They think their opinion matters for the same reason a plumber does. Or a truck driver. Or a waitress. Or any number of other professions. People tend to put importance on their own opinions, much like you're doing now.

Again, you're completely missing the point.

Never said celebrities had no right to an opinion. I did say that they are fools who are disconnected from the real world for thinking their opinions are to be blurted out in a televised award ceremony that ostensibly has nothing to do with politics.

Working internationally isn't the same as conducting business internationally...

Like, flying to a new location in order to do exactly what you would do on a sound stage in Hollywood really wouldn't give you any special insight.

They shill because it's in the Hollywood culture to do so. You're most likely not going to succeed as an actor if you don't fit two or three criteria. You won't even get off the ground.

The companies that own some of the mainstream media networks that shilled for Hillary are owned by the same people who run big Hollywood and make the decisions on which films to produce, who to be the actors, etc.

They're playing by the unwritten rules (or, in some cases, probably written rules as well) to help undermine American values and culture.
