yeah, i got a raise unrelated to the tax cut (my employer is a nonprofit and pays no taxes)

but my overall tax rate rose due to my net loss of deductibles

i assumed i was an exception, though. i think for most people the effect is too small to notice.

it is theoretically possible that he's serious and calculated ahead his savings for 2018. it's an easy calc to make since the credit doesn't require any math

well I mean if you think you're going to pay more than 2k per child in federal income taxes then it is literally just 2k per kid (which I assume is where the 4k figure is coming from) it is just the wording seems to imply it is talking about this tax season

My annual raise happens in March. Did they count me as not reporting a raise? Did they count people who normally get a raise but got a bigger one because of the tax situation or just those who wouldn't have gotten one otherwise?

There's 156 million Americans in the workforce. Two percent of that is THREE MILLION PEOPLE who have seen a raise from Trump's tax cut and the law has only been in effect for ONE MONTH. That's yuuuuge.

You should probably find a more constructive outlet when upset though. Like, if you MUST headbutt a wall, maybe make it art and sell it to high society at a massive mark up?

The large majority of the news media leaves out direct links to the primary source. This is easiest to see by looking at news coverage of scientific studies.

It doesn't seem like many news agencies have qualms about it, leaving informed readers frustrated.
