I mean you watch the 49ers and (baseball) Giants; you should be used to wasting your time watching bad things.

I enjoyed it. Felt like it'd be a lot better as a tv series though.

It seems like it hinges entirely on the "modern mythical humanoids" thing which Shadowrun has done since the 80s.

Especially the fact that it involves police.

I'm not familiar with Shadowrun but from the brief glimpse I read, doesn't it take place in far future with the magical creatures having one day just suddenly appeared?

Bright's universe seems to be one where fantasy races have always coexisted with humanity and live in our modern world. That's a very unique premise. And it didn't do anything with it.

It was ok to me. The world building wasn't that good, Will's character would have done something more than just pick up the wand one time at the end .

I like the idea of mythical creatures coexisting in the modern world, but I have heard this was such a bad movie that I haven't bothered watching it yet...

It's really weird. The lore wasn't thought out well at all. They're talking about the Alamo and Shrek. The racial stuff is half-assed too.

They literally plopped in fantasy shit in our society like it wouldn't make an impact on anything outside of an orc slum and a futuristic Elf city.

I liked the modern day approach to fantasy races. The core story was fairly generic though.
