Yeah, I don't think Brassard is quite that good of a player for the return they pulled in. I also don't quite think I understand what is in all this for Vegas? But maybe it's something with their cap sitution. I haven't looked into where they sit too hard yet.

Vegas chose to help Pittsburgh so that Brassard wouldn't end up in the West. They "gained" not having to play against a team with him. Not sure how I feel about that.

The Central is still completely ridiculous BTW. It's entirely possible that a team could end up 10 games over 500 and still miss the playoffs entirely.

You guys are crazy. Brassard is a respectable 2C who will be playing against everyone else's 3Cs and passing to Phil Kessel and likely his best friend Hagelin. He also has the third most points in the playoffs in the East since 2013, and the top 4 in that category is now all Penguins. And it only costs us 3 million in cap space.

Unless Karlsson moves this is the trade of the year.

Patrik Elias' #26 raised to the rafters in New Jersey. Outstanding, emotional ceremony. His pass to Jason Arnott from the corner in double overtime to win the 2000 Stanley Cup is my most memorable goal of all time. So many great memories and an outstanding career, entirely with the Devils.

A once in a lifetime occurrence just took place in the Leafs/Bruins game. The Leafs had a questionable goalie interference call go their way AND Tim Peel was the ref. One for the history books.

A few weeks ago I thought the Leafs were locked into third in the division, but after this crazy run anything is possible.

There was a no goal call on ice turned over by replay because the puck did go over the line, which was then turned over on another replay review for goaltender interference.

Plekanec to the Leafs for a 2nd. Habs retain half the salary. I'm not mad at it.

Leafs also give up Valiev and Rychel. It's a little pricey for a depth piece, but those guys would have never made the NHL team.

....The Leafs already have so much talent that they can't put them all in the lineup. Why take on Plekanec too, isn't he no better than a 3rd liner at this point?

I'm sure some advanced stats genius sees some benefit to that...

Edit: upon further thought, Plekanec is better than Komarov so I guess it's worth it just on that basis.

Plekanec is likely to replace Moore on the fourth line.

Our fourth line is going to be Komarov/Plekanec/Kapanen which is pretty competitive.
