I have my moments with Game Grumps. Dan and Arin are fun enough people but watching them play games I know is a grind to my psyche.

Fire Red about killed me. Especially when they just stuck with the flipping Beedrill.

I can understand running a bunch in Twilight Town. You have to backtrack three or four times and that one path has really obnoxious enemies.

TTYD is a good game, but Twilight Town is possibly the worst level of anything I've ever played.

I hated how they ignored requests for like 2 years for fire red to come back but one special guy who runs the wendy's account asks and a week later they do it. annoying.

I remember Goombella being kind of useless. Tattle was useful, of course, but her actual attacks weren't as useful as the other characters until you get Rally Wink.

She was the best character until you get vivian. Vivian is just OP. But goombella was the best out of the non-op partners.

fiery jinx generally breaks most random encounters, but goombella is by far the best against bosses and rally wink is completely broken because mario is extremely overpowered

Vivian is better for tough bosses due to her invisibility skill, allowing mario to be more offense oriented and not worry about defense as much. Plenty of bosses have adds which vivian destroys

nothing beats power bouncing twice in a turn

well at that point all partners are useless because with a Danger Mario setup you can 1tko any boss except maybe the boss of the pit of 100 trials

the difference is that you have to go out of your way and farm a badge several times to run danger mario
power bounce is gotten by naturally playing the game and it's beyond broken wth no setup

I enjoy watching them sometimes, but they are absolutely terrible at virtually every game. Like, girl "gamer" level bad or just totally casual, like someone's mom trying to play the game or something lol. It's painful sometimes. Like no intuition or awareness whatsoever.

the npc sings something like "butt stomp red 3 times, hammer blue 4 times"

then they start hammering blue immediately. the game obviously punishes them with battles because they are doing it wrong. but they call it "jrpg filler" "the devs are only doing this cause we need to make the game longer without effort" etc

Just saw today's episode, and Dan actually thought to temporarily toss an item from his full inventory, use the Jammin Jelly he just got and needed right away, and then pick the tossed item back up.

(I mean, when they set the bar as low as they do it's genuinely impressive when they correctly do something that would be incredibly obvious to just about anyone else.)

It can be frustrating... although best friends play not using hat tech was more frustrating during Odyssey. I will content that it doesn't really matter if they are bad at games because you watch for the banter between two great friends.

I mean, Dan would never admit to being remotely good at games. Coupled with Arin hating on the game at any chance he can get and providing little help (or more likely, being just as shit himself) it is a bad combination that won't produce good gameplay.
