A puzzle where you have three blocks marked 3/10/1. I didn't remember this puzzle, so it took me a minute of watching them to figure out the somewhat obvious solution: you hit the blocks the number of times they say. It takes them a full five minutes to solve this. Whatever, that's fine, I've missed obvious things in video games (I spent a good solid hour wandering around the first part of the Baker household in RE7) because I was trying to overcomplicate them. But then they look at a walkthrough which gives them the explanation and they still fail. They don't notice the obvious fact that the game is still recording the hits from all their failed attempts, so they get extremely confused. And then they even say it doesn't matter when the block changes color.

They finally get it, I think because the game just reset the timer.

How the fuck do you have this sidekick for 60 episodes and not understand that his shtick is that he deals repeated hits of 1 rather than a big hit of 3 which is what Mario's does.

And then he just doesn't even try to switch partners to try something else. This is their biggest problem, they'll try one thing and won't bother anything else. They assume they can't beat this enemy at all because Yoshi's attack won't work. The last boss is going to ruin them.

Yeah, their playthrough got unbearable. I still like their commentary so I just keep their videos as background noise.

Watching the final chapter might be extremely uncomfortable because even Dan gets fed up at times with how "difficult" the game gets. I got a kick out of their reactions to the Dark Wizzerd enemy though.

Goombella would have been useless in that situation though. Although they did upgrade her which might've raised her attack, I can't remember.

They're at the boss of the penultimate level and even the walktrhough's not helping them now. Why? Because it assumes they paid attention, listened to the Shine Sprite dude, got the special upgrade, and leveled up Bobbery a second time. Amazing.

Also worth mentioning that he currently has max FP because he's apparently convinced that the basic hammer attack is the only thing worth doing.

They've now realized Vivian has a Veil ability, but they don't understand why it's useful in a game where some enemies charge their attack for a turn.

And Dan just legitimately asked, "Should I just endlessly Veil?"

For the unenlightened, Goombella has Multibonk and she gets twice as much of a damage boost from Power Plus Ps. Combine that with Charge P and she has one of the highest damage outputs in the entire game.

See this is what I remember, if I needed to do heavy damage on a specific enemy it was always Goombella + Mario. Not sure why people are saying otherwise. Though it's been a while, I think a couple other characters could manage a high damage attack as well (Mowz, and I can't remember the other now).

I don't care enough to not give them views tbh. They aren't offending me, it's just sort of mind boggling lol. The later episodes aren't as good, but the early ones were rather funny. I enjoy when they voice cutscenes, but they're clearly just starting to go through the motions.

So I no-lifed all 115 episodes. TC is right, watching them play it is really frustrating. The impression I get from the subreddit is that (aside from perhaps OoT) this is possibly their most frustrating series. I think I might try their RE7 playthrough since I found them mostly enjoyable. And RE7's combat and puzzles are massively simple compared to TTYD, so it can't be that frustrating, right?

Funnily enough, according to the wiki, she is the only boss in the last level that is completely immune to it. All the rest have either a 5% or 1% chance of being instakilled by it.

We all know that he'll just try to Hammer Throw it to death though. Or use his base hammer attack. Or something else that'll make my taint ache.

I admit I've never played TTYD so I don't see the problems with their gameplay. What's wrong with how they use Veil? How is it supposed to work? To me, it looks like it's supposed to be Veil, enemy attacks, unveil which means a recharge turn, then the enemy attacks again when they're unveiled.

There's 2 ways veil can be used:

Round 1:
Mario attacks
Partner attacks
Boss supercharges 15 damage move

Round 2:
Mario attacks
Partner Veils
Boss misses

Round 3:
Mario & partner released from Veil, can't attack because Mario attacked in round 2, Veil requires "recharging for balance"
Boss uses normal 6 damage attack

Or...

Round 1:
Mario attacks
Partner attacks
Boss supercharges 15 damage attack

Round 2:
Partner Veils
Boss misses

Round 3:
Mario & Partner released from Veil, Partner is recharging, Mario can attack/ counter because he didn't attack in Round 2
Boss attempts normal 6 damage attack

GG is using method 1, which isn't terrible tbh, but by using method 2, you are at least given a chance to use alternative ways to end that round, offensively or defensively, in stead of Method 1's limiting you to defending

Danny, at least, rarely plays games. He's the one playing currently so more understandable for him.

Arin plays all the time and still manages to be absolutely awful at nearly all but a few games. And if he doesn't like a game, he won't even put the minimum effort in and will shit all over the game (like he is now) and so won't actually properly help Danny.
