I only wish I could have gotten more people to play it.

Problem is I don't like being really aggressive in trying to push stuff like this on people, but with something as relatively obscure as this I would have pretty much had to do that for it to gain any traction. (At least at the time I played it anyway. I think it's at least a bit more well-known now, but even then only really within the dedicated VN community)

I really like passing of the torch stories and the balls to switch protagonists so AA4 hits a lot of right notes with me.
Still probably gonna fall way short of 1 and 3 because it's middle cases were very...middling.

But...we'll see what happens when the curtains fall.

I kinda wish they had passed the torch without Phoenix being there. If Hobonix had been a completely different character, it'd have been a lot better.

I was kind of waiting for a more genuine reason he became all jaded and his morals were loosened a bit. Doesn't seem like I'll get it.

Then just change characters. Phoenix didn't really need to come back at all honestly. His story ended perfectly after T&T, but then they decided, "you know what? perfect endings suck" and bah.

I don't really like that they sent him down The Last Jedi Luke Skywalker path

or rather I guess I should say that I don't like that they sent The Last Jedi Luke Skywalker down the Apollo Justice Phoenix Wright path since the latter came first

I didn't really start playing this series till I knew it was a 6+-parter, so I didn't ever consider Phoenix's story done at 3. I guess I can see being disappointed if you were playing in release order, but it's just Episode III and IV to me so rough patches are a good thing for the story!

Deal! I watched the first seven episodes and it's pretty good. Lots of fun relationship situations. There are too many characters and I'm bad at remembering names but the blonde love master guy is my favorite just because of how absurd he always is.

I mean it's still a pretty clear demarcation point for the series even if you're playing them now. It's just such a weird swerve, and it nearly killed the series. Thankfully, they managed to salvage it, and the series is as good as ever. To be fair to Takumi, he originally didn't want to include Phoenix, but Capcom insisted, and the result is the weakest link in all of his works, including his non-AA stuff.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm reading the manga now, and it has even more characters! Some of them make cameos in the show, but yeah, a few plot lines were cut completely from the show because it would be even more of an overload.

And yeah, the blonde love master is great. I said in the last topic that he's literally Teddie if he actually knew anything about women.

I don't think including Phoenix or not would have mattered.

He was a highlight for me even if whatever themes might have been presented fell through. Missed opportunity seems to be the name of this game, besides Apollo Justice. Weak finale despite all that hype. There really wasn't much ground left to cover by the final trial I guess. Felt like Klavier saved the day more often than Apollo did!

Still a pretty satisfying story. But it doesn't really sniff how perfectly executed Godot's plot was or the simplicity of the first game.

Yeah, 4-4's second trial day is pretty terrible. Feels like Apollo barely does anything, and that's one of the weaknesses of the game. He gets overshadowed by the other characters in his own game. Phoenix is a fully developed character by the end of PW1. By the end of AJ, we know about as much about him as we did when we started. It's unfortunate.

Also, you could have kept the Hobonix character and just had him be someone else entirely. I think he's a legitimately fascinating character. I just wish he weren't Phoenix Wright.

Missed the end of last topic but here are some anime recommendations:

A Silent Voice--Been thinking about this lately and it's really good. It's a movie so there aren't a ton of options to watch it really. However, The dub is being played in theaters next month, but only for like 1 day and in specific theaters. Also there is a DVD/Blu-ray release hopefully forthcoming eventually? Highly recommended on the chance that you have the ability to watch it though.

Other stuff, a lot of which I've probably already recommended:

Nagi no Asukara
Golden Time
Chihayafuru

Disclaimer: I have some issues with parts of Golden Time. However most of the show I like a lot, and also there are a lot of people that don't have issues with the parts that I do.

@GranzonEx I watched SEED with Cooper Midnight a few years ago. Some of it was, ahem, admittedly, rather insipid, but overall I liked it. The Japanese-only short OVA epilogue is mandatory viewing, unfortunately, because otherwise it's like watching Gundam Wing without Endless Waltz ("this show seriously just gave me a three-minute ending?!")

SEED Destiny, however, I shall never watch. I've heard horror stories
