Was looking up how to cook it (Chicken Soup) yesterday night and apparently the stock is the hardest (and most vital) part.

Anyway, looking to make it sometime this week and cheat by using broth instead.

Also was expecting pictures of your soup but it is what it is

Ill upload a picture later. Stock I made by putting thigh meat (I had some), celery tops and bottoms, half an onion with the tops and bottoms, a few carrot tops and bottoms and a bunch of freshly ground black pepper and put it on low overnight. I added chicken boullion later.

Making broth or stock is only difficult you want it to be perfectly clear because you are making it for a restaurant or something because you need to not let it full boil and have to keep skimming it and such

But at home? Throw cracked/cut parboiled bones in a pot with a lot of whole peeled veggies and just let it go. Shit is cake easy

Yeah pretty much what Reggie said. You can improve the flavor with spices and such after, but you really just dump it in a crock pot and forget about it.

Making things in slow cookers over night always give me the creeps, I realize it's perfectly fine, but it doesn't stop me feeling weird about it.

Whenever I get a rotisserie at the store to make buffalo chicken dip, I throw the remains with various veggies and spices. Like you said it is really easy unless you want it clear.

Chicken soup is easy. I can make chicken soup. I still prefer when my mum would make it, but it helps she had a pot big enough to cook a child. I only had normal sized pots.

Yes

Or just not as good should be reason enough imo

You can make stock from scraps you otherwise wouldn't eat. Like ends of vegetables, bones, etc. It costs very little to make good stock.

I'm not on board with the crock pot method but whatever works

Also a good way to get cheap chicken stock is go to an asian marketplace where you can get dehydrated stock (bouillon cubes and the like).
I got a giant tub of it for like $7.

Then you can adjust the taste of the stock with it too! If you want more/less of the stock.

I misread that as made children soup, chicken sounds better though. Children are dirty and disease covered.
