PewDiePie, the man with the most subscribers on YouTube, some consider the face of YouTube and starter of the adpocolypse, says the N word during a Livestream of PUBG.
This was a second blow to him after the Hitler jokes controversy.

Logan Paul, an up and coming youtuber who gets millions of viewers on his daily vlogs posts a vlog, essentially using a dead body of a suicide victim for views.

These are huge blows to YouTube's image as a whole.

The N-word wasn't even the worst thing PewDiePie did this year IMO. All the anti-Semitic jokes were dumb 4chan edgelord shit and I hate the way it turned into some kind of war on the "mainstream media" with a bunch of YouTubers convinced they're 100% right and kissing ass to PewDiePie since he's the most popular one. And PewDiePie himself just doubled down on those kind of jokes and pulled the "It's a joke so you're the problem for getting offended" excuse.

Oh and JonTron said actual racist stuff that permanently shook my views on him.

It seems odd to pair these two items in a poll as if they're the two biggest controversies surrounding YouTube. Maybe the Logan Paul one is, I don't know, but PewDiePie is nowhere near second and it's not really even similar

Legally youtube isn't responsible for the content that's uploaded to their website.

They have no reason to curate the content on their site other than to please their customers.

If we found a body in the woods and had to report to the cops, however? No big deal, it's just a dead body of someone and we did the right thing and reported it but we have personal connection to this person whatsoever

People sue them all the time for IP claims and what not, but virtually every time they are not held liable because of the act noted above. There are some rare exceptions to the rule but they're very few and far between and highly contested in court.

As I said, hit pieces that selectively quote people out of context in order to drum up drama and generate clicks are what people rely on to form their opinions. Nobody here is gonna actually watch any of PewDiePie's videos to see what he's actually like.

It doesn't matter what people think of them over these situations because both of these guys have huge fan bases that have their backs and will still continue to support them

Not saying it makes it any better, but Logan Paul is not the first person to show a dead body in Aokigahara on YouTube. These guys even make it a whole thing. They "accidentally" show a body, make an apology video, then do nothing about the original.

Now, there aren't close-ups and shit like in Paul's video, but it's there.

i didn't watch the Logan Paul video. I only heard about it. it sounds like he was making a documentary on the suicide forest, which i find fascinating. It just sounds like he did his own spin on it instead of taking seriously.

Everyone copes with depression and PSTD differentially. His way was laughter and trying to get away from the promblem.

When i watch Anthony Bourdain i feel like he puts his own spin on his documentary too. Sometimes i feel like he's being disrepectful too.

I really need to watch the Logan Paul video.
