He said that if you just put 1.5k a month in to an IRA then you will become a millionaire before 60. ****, only rich people have that kind of money to save every month. In addition, the dude is fat af too, so are you going to be able to do with when your ass gets medical bills from your poor healths. God, republicans ***** me off.

Unfortunately, it's these kinds of statements from politicians that go hand in hand with today's society, and the issue of shoving snowflake ideologies down everyone's throats all the time. The "1%" is the 1% for a reason. No, not everyone can get there through hard work. Not everyone is insanely unique and rich. We're not supposed to be. Average is average for a reason.

And yet I often find the U.S. political right to often complain of "special snowflakes". But the problem runs deeper than anyone realize, and there's far more contributing to that ideology than most tend to recognize.

Edit: Also, specific source here? Or is this just general commentary on the "pull yourself up by the bootstrap" thing?

You would literally have to be making above 70k a year at 20 to comfortable be able to do that unless you are fortunate enough to have parents pay for living expenses, student loans, car, insurance, and etc. Plus, you would probably have to live a miserable boring life consistently for the next 30 years.
