Nile is my guilty pleasure right now. It's kinda dorky but it's just way too good. Really "fun" death metal.
Annihilation of the Wicked is the album in particular. I know I'm a few years behind, but I have fallen in love with The Satanist. I've always been a fan of Behemoth, but I never truly appreciated this album. It might be one of the best mainstream extreme metal releases the past 10 years.

So for anyone who doesn't know, Fantasy Metal is like heavy metal that tells an epic tale and sometimes sounds like epic music. My favorite bands in this genre are Dragonland, Fairyland, and Gloryhammer.

Without A7X/Disturbed allowed (2 of my top 5 favorite bands), the only bands I regularly listen to that might be considered "metal" enough to fit this topic are Metallica, Dragonforce, and maybe Fozzy. What's wrong with Slipknot and such? I personally enjoy what i do.
And yes i get that Slipknot is like starbucks, but its not like real coffee in same sense as actual expensive premium coffee is, or comparing cuban cigars to those cheap small ones with filter on them.
