Tons of rock bands only got bigger with time, even well out of their prime, tons of country artists, and yes, even pop artists. Look at Michael Jackson for example, progressively got bigger and bigger until he died, even well out of his prime, and he's still highly regarded and his influence is seen in modern pop music.
