I dunno. It's felt like the edit has ignored Sarah at several key moments. Meanwhile Brad gets something decent each week.

The edit ignored Michele too. Up until the Sandra boot, Sarah had never gone to tribal council, yet still got the big opener about herself, plus the unnecessary "I'm gonna form a bond with Troyzan" scene.

Which contrasts nicely with the Brad/Troyzan scene, where their alliance is presented in a manner of convenience by being the only two men.

Always hard to count sports games, but I got the platinum, which took 20+ hours, so I figured that should work. This satisfied the baseball itch I had after not playing The Show since 2014, but it's time to move back into beating games.

Tips?

- Be aware of your surroundings. You never know when someone might flank you.
- Be aware of the objective. Control points, payload, capture the flag. Know what the mission is and don't just run around killing people. I hate sometimes when we're playing a King of the Hill map and we lose because everyone's too busy killing off on the sidelines and not pushing point (this includes myself).
- Be aware of your teammates. Scouts and Spies can get away most often with running behind enemy lines, and Snipers and Engies are great at staying back, but you want to be with your teammates most of the time instead of straying out too far solo. Don't glue yourself to your teammates, but don't just be Leeroy Jenkins. Also, awareness of your teammates can help with catching spies.

Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright

I romanced the hell out of this game. Awakening was my first Fire Emblem game, and it blew me away. In a lot of ways, this was more Fire Emblem, which was good, but it didn't capture the same magic that the first game did, so I was left a little disappointed by it. It probably didn't help the I could not possibly care less about the story. By the end, I found myself skipping through some of the dialogue just to get back into the combat.

I didn't hate it, I just think some of the jobs dragged on for too long. That and I really liked the simplicity of the first one. The humor and especially the plot were great here and I liked the focus on the side characters this time. I really started liking Murray and Bentley

Assassin's Creed: Origins

+Great protagonist is Bayek and great sort-of protagonist in Aya
+Gorgeous visuals, huge and varied environment. Climbing the pyramids in Giza is an all-time great AC moment for me, and it's not even required for the story
+Historical moments were really awesome (Battle of the Nile, rise and fall of Ptolemy, Cleopatra, and Caesar)
+Navigation is mostly smooth and easy and almost everything feels climbable
+Ranged combat is great
+Phylakes are cool (if underutilized)

-Re-invented melee combat is loose and sloppy and frustrating. It's especially frustrating given how smooth the combat was in Syndicate. Counters are barely usable, combos are impossible, dodging is garbage and sometimes little inconsistencies just ruin it (in particular, war elephant fights are terrible because 2/3 of the way through the fight, the archers begin rapid-firing through the elephants shots that are impossible to dodge)
-Big environment is cool but it's SO BIG and riding over miles of empty desert on camelback is about as fun as it sounds
-Sounds dumb to complain about there being too much to do but there are SO MANY sidequests, and about 75% of them feel completely inconsequential. In trying to make the game into an RPG they added a ridiculous amount of fodder, and after a certain point none of it feels worth the effort (compare earlier games like AC2, where there were less side missions, but completing each one would have a specific effect on building your villa, which made it feel worth it, whereas here it all just gets you EXP)

Life is Strange

- Where to begin? Where to end? What to say and not say? This was one amazing, incredible experience. This is one of those games I'm going to remember even when I'm senile. The entire cast of characters were intriguing, the music was fantastic, the choices were difficult, the emotions were real, the otherworldliness was perfect, the little touches and details to the world were so good. Though I can see the on-rails point-to-point-to-point visual novel style of events (unlike a Telltale game where you usually get to play around with where you go and who you meet with), the magic is in the surroundings and the atmosphere and the characters and the thoughts and memories Max makes throughout her days.

As good as the story, music, twists, characters, settings, timey wimey, everything and more... I think the most unique and understated offering the game gives you is multiple moments just to sit. Just to optionally take a seat and relax as you get a little panorama slideshow of the happenings around you as Max thinks her thoughts and a nice melody plays under the radar. I feel like a lot of the game is to not take for granted what you have and to put your best foot forward in all situations because you won't have those chances or opportunities to say something or see someone again, and just the option to take a seat, even if you have a million things to do, is also nice because taking a breath and drinking in what goes around you can be just as important.

Yay, Life is Strange! It's my favorite game so I'm happy to see that you enjoyed it. I love the sitting mechanic too, it's nice to take a breather and just listen to Max's thoughts. I've always felt that the real charm of the game is in the little details like that.
