I did. It sucks. I struggle with anxiety but the panic attacks have sort of calmed down over the last few months.

What do you usually do to remedy it?

Those suck.

Two things to remember that will physiologically help:

1. Try to breathe in and out at the same rate. Hypoxia is what causes the numbness and tingling that can give you that "heart attack" feeling. It's an imbalance of oxygen and Co2.

2. Don't let it spiral. It's easy to get more and more and more worked up, which makes it more difficult to relax in turn. Like a snowball rolling down a hill and getting bigger. Try not to let it roll too far, if that makes sense. Breathe in for 5, out for 5, and try your best to find something you can do to distract yourself from the squirmy, panicky feeling.

Also, a change of environment can work wonders. Find your triggers if possible and avoid them or take a break from them if possible and change environments to somewhere you feel comfortable and in control.

What do you usually do to remedy it?

Calming myself down the best way I could. It was triggered be certain stresses throughout the day so Id try to find ways to work around them. What really helped overall were some life changes I made.

Agree with everything said so far. For me a lot of it was putting an immense amount of stress on myself. Trying to control everything in my life was driving me insane. Couldn't go a week with 3 or more panic attacks.

So I guess what I'm saying is in addition to calming techniques try and figure out the stressors and triggers.

A couple things that could potentially help:

- Proper breathing techniques. Focusing on your breathing, breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.

- Close your eyes and try to think of happy memories.

- Blowing on your thumb. Put your thumb in your mouth like you're going to suck on it, but blow instead. This will help reset your heart rate.

- Look at the ceiling. This will help ease the head spinning sensations that sometimes come with anxiety attacks.

- Tapping your fingers on your face, shoulders or leg. Drumming fingers rhythmically can give a sense of calming.

These will help with the symptoms, but not the cause. The best way to deal with anxiety attacks is to identify the source of them. If you can identify the source, you will be more able to resist future onsets. Good luck tc, anxiety attacks suck but are beatable.
