Have you ever told an online stranger EXACTLY where you LIVED??

28 y/o Andrew Finch was shot and killed as soon as he OPENED THE DOOR by a COP in Kansas!!

He was the victim of an internet prank known as "swatting' where someone makes a false call to get SWAT team to respond to another person's home address.

More than a dozen involved said an argument between 2 Call of Duty gamers over a $2 bet caused one to initiate the "swat"

Police said they got a call stating a father had been shot in the head and a shooter was holding his mother, brother and sister hostage.

The call was released where the caller told the dispatcher "They were arguing and i shot him in the head and he's not breathing anymore". The dispatcher tells him to put the gun down and the man says "I'm just pointing the gun at them, making sure that they stay in the closet, my mom and my little brother. I might just pour gasoline all over the house; i might just set it on fire" and then hung up

Officers went to the house and prepared a hostage situation as bodycam footage showed Finch coming to his front door and IMMEDIATELY he was shot by the cop!!

They didn't say what possessed the cop to shoot so suddenly as Finch was not armed and no one else was wounded at his parent's home.

Lisa Finch, his mother said her son was unarmed when he opened the door to the familys home after hearing something. She said Andrew SCREAMED and then suddenly he was shot...the family was then forced outside barefoot in freezing cold and her granddaughter was forced to step over her dying uncle..

Lisa said her son was "murdered"

Police are investigating if it was swatting or a prank as the FBI joined in. They admitted the call was "peculiar" but took it seriously anyway

A spokeswoman for a company that runs online gaming tournaments said they are assisting with the authorities in this investigation as UMG Gaming operates online tournaments including Call of Duty. False calls is a felony and can lead to 13 months in prison

A message was posted on twiter that said "I DIDN'T GET ANYONE KILLED BECAUSE I DIDN'T DISCHARGE A WEAPON AND BEING A SWAT MEMBER ISN'T MY PROFESSION. That kids house that i swatted is on the news". His account has since been suspended.

It appears the police may have been given a false address by one of the gamers where Finch lived

The person who was the supposed targe of the prank said "Someone tried to swat me and got an innocent man killed"

One person said "What the f*** am i hearing swatting an innocent person getting them killed over 1.50 wager right after Christmas?? You 2 deserve to rot in jail and i really hope you do"

Have you ever told an online stranger where you LIVED??.

Once again, thankful that bodycams are a thing.

Should be a lot longer than that, although I suspect that the perp is a minor so no matter what he won't get much. Both of those assholes should go away for at least a few years, given that their stupidity resulted in a death and an officer's life potentially being ruined as well.

While his response is enraging, the complete lack of remorse and the attempt to shift blame isn't entirely unexpected from the kind of sociopath who would do that shit as a prank in the first place.

Not a stranger per say no but I have gave my address to three online buddies who I've never met but have talked to for years. One of them sent me game for my Birthday and the other who was a lass sent me a thong and a Slipknot lighter. The third one was a sort of like pen pal I guess as we both wrote letters to each other when I had no internet for several months.

Not much to say really. In short I like when I saw her in it on webcam so she sent it me. I also smoke and love Slipknot. She likes Slipknot too so got me a lighter and sent it along with said thong. That was a good day.

Oh. That makes sense, actually... I dig it.

I thought maybe you were a pyromaniac but you only performed your rituals in a thong. What you're saying makes a lot more sense.

Doubt I'd fit into her thong. I never tried though so we will never know.

Isn't it transferred intent or does that follow under felony murder? (I could be confused lol)

Apparently this took place in Kansas and the prank caller was arrested in Los Angeles.

From Wikipedia
"As of August 2008, 46 states in the United States have a felony murder rule, under which felony murder is generally first-degree murder."

Again from Wikipedia
"Critics of the felony murder rule argue that the rule is unjust because it requires no intent to kill."

As to how it applies here -
"In most jurisdictions, to qualify as an underlying offense for a felony murder charge, the underlying offense must present a foreseeable danger to life, and the link between the offense and the death must not be too remote."

I think the foreseeable danger to life is rather obvious. Whether the link is remote or not hinges on the cop who did the actual shooting and how they are trained to handle hostage situations given the information provided by the supposed perpetrator.
