Have you ever took your anger out on a machine before?

23 y/o Michael Joseph Olesik said that an ATM gave him TOO MUCH CASH so he retaliated by PUNCHING it!

He was charged with criminal mischief for punching a Wells Fargo ATM in Cocoa, Florida and the assault on a machine caused at least $5000 in damages

He was seen on video standing at the ATM continuously punching the touch screen and then called the Bank and told a manager the pummeled it because "he was angry at the ATM was giving him too much money and he did not know what to do" and that he was a hurry to work.

He apologized but the bank wanted blood and have him arrested...

Have you ever took your anger out on a machine before?

Either be honest and give the money back to the bank, or pocket the money. Punching the ATM is such a bizarre response.

By how ducky's telling the story, I think he was in a rush and he panicked when he was faced with the possibility of needing to take time to return it. It's still stupid, obviously, but I can at least see where he was coming from.

Unclear from duckbear's info whether he got more money than it said he had taken out or if it deducted more than he requested from his account.
Some people (like me) don't like carrying around more than a certain amount of money, and if it deducted the given amount from his account (ie, it really was "his money") and it was way more than he input...yeah, that's just genuinely annoying.

Still shouldn't have punched the ATM repeatedly (ow!), but $5000, seriously?! Wells Fargo, after the illegal shit they pulled last year, fraudulently opening accounts that people never asked for in order to pad their "sales numbers" has no moral high ground. They got off legally scot free, they could at least be a bit compassionate to this dude, clearly they went after him as much as they could. $5000 from punching damage! Fuck Wells Fargo!
