i love anime but there was a time when i loved manga just as much and sadly ever since borders books closed down i don't really have the luxury of checking out manga often

there isn't a barns and nobles anywhere around me...so my only hope is ordering online which can be a problem if i don't even know about the quality of what I'm getting

so manga fans just help me out here and tell me what company publishes the most consistently good manga in the united states?

cause I'm out of the loop with current stuff

Wouldn't it make more sense to just get recommendations for individual manga, rather than ordering everything by a certain publisher with a good reputation? Even the best publisher is going to end up printing some bad stuff from time to time, and limiting yourself to one publisher is going to mean missing out on a lot of good stuff.

true but I'm getting the sense either way most people won't respond and if they do they'll recommend older manga's

viz media seems to be the one that pops up most often in most people's heads and it seems like there aren't many manga publishers that can really contend with the library they usually have at ther disposal

so even if i asked for best manga's alone no doubt it would just lead me back to viz

they carried manga and it's where i purchased most of my collection so without them I'm left to just making blind choices on the internet

anytime i ask...i usually get cricket chirps since the manga fanbase is rather small

Viz, Kodansha, and Yen Press are the biggest ones that I can think of. I think they all do a pretty good job. Certain works like Yu Yu Hakusho or Naruto from Viz are censored so that brings them down in quality to me. Honestly, it all depends on the series.

What kind of manga do you like reading? Shonen, Romance, something a little darker?

i like supernatural manga's(horror can work too)and shonen

at the very least I'm not against romance manga's but considering they are heavily aimed at women i find myself a bit lost

Does NMB ever make sense, though? =p

Promised Neverland first English volume is out and it's lit.

"To you, the immortal" has a few volumes out. It's called "To Your Eternity" in US

The asshole in charge of Tokyopop blamed the Borders bankruptcy for ruining his business. ... No, Stu, you ruined your business. And, like a cockroach, you keep popping up again. Go away.

....

*coughs* Sorry, I'm still a little mad about that. It may have been a completely dysfunctional company, but Borders was pretty much my home, and I loved working there, even when management was sclerotic and the corporate office was insane.

Doesn't mean I forgive people who did nothing but lay about the aisles and read manga without paying for it, though. :-|

That being said, to answer the topic question: My vote there goes to Seven Seas. Slow release schedule, but the quality of their stuff is pretty high.
