That's the world we live in

Nevermind the obvious flaws and unoriginal content and flavorless humor and overall lack of creativity

You dislike it because it's women

Making the Ghostbusters women was one of the most consistently pervasive criticisms of that movie, starting months before it was even released.

So while I'm sure there were plenty of legit criticisms to be made, acting like sexism didn't factor in is just willful ignorance tbqh

Shouldn't they want original ideas and new material rather than hand me downs? This almost seems like it was done out of spite. Media could use something fresh. Stop with the _____ versions of stuff.

What would also be being willfully ignorant would be acting like a lot of the complaints about them being women didn't stem from the fact that it was blatantly politically motivated and that shit tends to rub people the wrong way

I mean, its pretty obvious that it was. Though I personally dont mind such motivations as long as the end product is good.

I checked out of the movie when I learned it was a reboot. Out of all classic franchises to make a belated sequel to, and reboot the one where it's a business that can hire people/change hands or whatever. Coulda just had the girls be the current staff years later.

Also years of Dan Akroyd constanltly going "Ghostbusters 3 is definitely happening this time" sort of made me genuinely skeptical of anything Ghostbusters. >_>
