Congresswoman Jackie Speier claims that on December 22nd as DC clears out for the Holiday, Rumors have been circulating that Trump will be firing Robert Mueller. If this happens, this proves our democracy and freedom has proven to become fabrication. The Republican-run Senate and House are not protecting Mueller anymore and in turn, are not protecting the people. Despite having a Constitution, Trump is single-handedly loopholing around everything to turn our country into a monarchy and we cannot stand for this. If this occurs before Mueller completes the investigation, the biggest march on Capital Hill has got to happen. Justice has NEVER been so fucking blind.

I really hope this is false. You know even if people protest that fuck all will happen anyway. Nobody wants to risk going to jail because things arent bad enough.

Things will get increasingly super shitty for a while then therell be a revolt eventually. Thats the nature of government.

Adam Schiff is saying it too. Trump's been unpunished for all the bullshit he should have been charged with and removed for office over. Comey's firing should have lead to greater things. I feel he's invincible at this point, which threatens everything in democracy.

All gave up their business ties. Trump did not. Trump is passing a tax bill that will send the economy into a great depression. He is withdrawing scientific words from the CDC. He's spoken at hate group rallies and voiced greatness from the white supremacy side. He's made us a national joke. Word just got out he's pushing torture at Guantanamo Bay. They are holding a citizen in custody refusing to give them a lawyer. His EPA is rolling back protections for the environment and protections for endangered animals. His education secretary is only focused on religious institutions. He put a man who believes in conversion therapy up as his VP.

Unlike other presidents, he's a tyrant and we all know it.

I honestly hope Trump does do this, because I am 100% confident it won't do Trump any good and will just basically be him committing suicide.

Trump doesn't appear to have really done anything all this time to gain any supporters, and he's surely slowly been losing them here and there, and he won the election by losing the popular vote already. Complacency and hope are all that is within the public that allows him to continue to think he's the god emperor of this country, but I'm pretty sure both have their limits.

Worst case scenario I'd see coming out of it, is an almost-civil war breaking out due to his most rabid nazi supporters, but they'd be well outnumbered and vastly out-gunned. He'll lose the support of the Republican party wholesale as well the moment it becomes apparent they can no longer dance around the issue to try and keep the general masses pacified while winking and nodding to fringe extremists and nazis; there's less of the latter, so if it came down to it where they HAVE to choose, for self preservation, they'd choose the former. Otherwise Trump would become an effigy for the whole party and irreparably destroy it.

That's what I anticipate happening, hypothetically, anyway. I really doubt the country would just collectively shrug its shoulders, shake its fist and go along with anything Trump does, just "Oh well, what a shitty president!"

There's way too much crazed extremism, militant people and deep anger boiling in the populace. A lot of people want to fight.

Is that so? Seems like people as a whole are slowly getting more and more sick of him.

Like I said, he's not GAINING any supporters, is he? Like since election, has he done anything, to win any new citizens over?

But surely, he's lost supporters since then. I mean that's kind of natural for any president...so I mean, I think he's kinda on a clock, and it's not on his side.

I completely agree. Too many people have this fantasy about being being apart of some historic event such as a riot or overthrow of government without understanding how these scenarios play out in the real world. If they think a riot willl remove Trump from office through representative pressure they're delusional and have no idea how American politics works. Let alone what the revolt they salivate about entail.

So one rumor from one congressperson? It must be true.

Honestly, I get the impression that people who dislike Trump will believe anything in order for him to be impeached and in most instances, its something that's not grounds for impeachment.

First off, what bases for impeachment is there for firing Mueller?

There's only 2 ways Trump could fire Mueller IIRC. He either would need to order a repeal of the regulations set in 99, which would be met with heavy legal pushback. Or he would need to order Rosenstein to do so, who spoke a few days ago about how there's no just cause to do so and gave no inclination he would push for that. Which would force Trump on the Nixon path of dismissing people till he finds someone to do his bidding

Hilarious, as a passive outside observer to the U.S. it's pretty clear that Trump has damaged the Republican reputation so badly that they possibly won't get back into office for 2 or more terms. How someone can imagine a Trump 2020 victory as an encumbent who lost the popular vote whilst the republicans lose Alabama is insane to me, you are living in a false reality.
