Under her. The last four new employees we had quit within the month. She's not in charge of anyone, I say "under her" because she just acts like she is, because she's as OCD as Monk. She thinks it's her fault.

So I say to her, "Don't worry about it, you can't make this job any better"

The reality is she's a fucking nightmare to work with. Just today, I was doing my job, slicing the meat, when all the sudden I have to pass some gas. I look behind me and there she is, so being polite like I am I walk away.

So she asks me, "What are you doing? Are you trying to get me to get you in trouble? Why aren't you doing your job? You're not done with your customer." and I don't respond, because A) butt out, and B) I'm farting.

So she calls me weird and walks over to tattle. Later on management comes down, and EVERY MANAGER HATES ME BECAUSE OF HER. She's constantly on my ass complaining about every little thing I do. I get a snide "good riddance" from my manager when I left today when she thought I wouldn't hear.

And you people honestly don't know me in person, but I'm so polite to everyone and I try really hard to do my job well.

It's gotten so bad I'm going to management. I'm going to give them a whole spheal. In fact, I think I'm going to print out a little paper of all the things she's done and bring that.

Do it. You shouldn't have to get in trouble. I've worked with people like that. I make sure that other people know about them. I'm not getting in trouble over crap like that.

This is my letter.

Lori = Deli manager
Debbie = comanager
Brittany = Brittany

- Brittany is constantly complaining about every little mistake I make. No other employee I work with gives me any trouble.
- The other day I had to walk behind the counter because I was having stomach issues. She asks me, "What are you doing? Why aren't you doing your job? What are you doing? You're not done with your customer." I don't reply, because I'm feeling ill. Brittany calls me a "weirdo". I walk up to Brittany and tell her "I needed to pass gas" which is completely none of her business. Still, she goes on to call me weird and and tells Debbie. Later I see Debbie's gone to Management about me. At the end of the day I hear "good riddance" come from Debbie to Brittany as I'm walking away, as she didn't expect me to hear. Brittany laughed along.
- All the Deli managers are losing respect for me because they see Brittany on me all day. I heard Brittany tell me to "get the broom and sweep". A manager was in the back, and she laughed and said, "You think he would know this by now, wouldn't you?" to which Brittany replied "I know, right?" This is routine.
- I've been taken over to the side by Lori because she was feeling as if I was listening to Brittany and not her. I do not want Brittany to act like she is my boss, and I can't help the way she talks to me. If I don't do what she says she goes to management and I look worse. I didn't argue with Lori and I apologized.

- I've shown multiple times I am capable at my job and do not need a 'coworker boss'. I close up the deli by myself on a regular basis without Brittany telling me to hurry up. She's constantly making remarks on how slow I am and how I'm doing just about everything wrong.
- She's impairing my ability to work well. When I am upset and stressed out, I make mistakes, so I will make more mistakes, so she will nitpick each and every one of those and stress me out even more.
- Customers have complained as I was first starting to work here that coworkers seemed to be more concerned with "bickering amongst themselves" than providing fast service.
- Late at night past closing hours we had a customer walk up and ask if we were closed. I replied "Unless you'd like pre-cut hard salami we can't get you anything." Brittany snapped at me saying we can't get them anything after hours, and she went on about this as I was trying to talk to my customer. I got my customer their salami, as I can get them salami without using anything or getting anything we cleaned dirty, and Brittany kept explaining to me that we can't do that. Eventually the customer yelled at her saying "He heard you!" and walked away.
- I've gone up to Brittany multiple times asking her politely to stop. Sometimes she apologizes, and then immediately goes back to acting like she's my boss. She's had other deli workers tell her to leave me alone, and she will immediately go back to harassing me the next day, as if she's not aware she's even doing it.
- She does this in between being very friendly towards me, as when she's not doing this we're friends. I've tried to be very understanding and tolerant, but I don't have the personality type to take this all day long and just roll my eyes.
- This single coworker can make my day completely unbearable.

I wrote it for management to see, however, I've decided because I know every worker involved wants to move up the ladder at some point, I'm going to give this to my local manager first. Aka Lori. She doesn't have to give this to anyone else. I've never gone to upper management about anything. I'm going to tell her I don't need them to hear about it.

Upper management has certainly heard a lot about me and they don't like me. However, I'm not interested in managing anything. By the time I move on to hopefully be a software engineer I don't see myself working here. There's a long list of sad old people who's entire lives revolve around kissing up to Kroger's management, and as much as they get on my nerves I don't see myself kicking that from under their legs.

Upper management has certainly heard a lot about me and they don't like me.

Which is why they'll probably never care about your letter, sounds like you're well past your time to move on to another job. Management probably gets a letter like that once a month.

I wouldn't focus so much on the mistakes that you make in your letter. Focus more on her making the work environment stressful. If you're constantly worrying and being harassed then you're bound to make more mistakes. Use previous employees as an example. Management will just throw your mistakes in your face if you keep mentioning them. They need to know why she's the real problem.

We were a full service deli so I also had to roast chickens and make sandwiches and stuff like that. The job itself wasn't bad, but it seemed to attract the worst people. It was all older women in their 40s and 50s and they all got it in their head that I was a lazy kid who didn't want to work even though I worked harder than pretty much all of them.

It didn't help that I was usually the closer at night and almost always had to pick up someone else's slack when I'm supposed to be closing (which was a pretty long process since it's food and everything has to be clean).

Yeah I got fed up and basically told my manager to put me somewhere else or I would walk. That's when I moved to electronics. That was a much better job although it had its fair share of frustration too, mostly from customers.
