The more people you send to get bodies, the more bodies you gotta go get.

This. Some of those bodies are the bodies of people that went to retrieve bodies

in the future I wonder if we will be able to rescue people with drones up there. Like you push a button and a drone flies up to you and snatches you off the mountain and brings you down back to the base camp.

No. The air gets too thin for propellers to generate lift.

Well maybe someone like Elon Musk will be able to create some kind of hybrid aircraft that can do stuff like that

Yeah I heard there is some guy nicknamed green boots who is used as a checkpoint. I think he's in a spot that would be super hard to get the body down from.

Apparently he disappeared for a little while, not sure if he got covered with snow or what but climbers didnt see him on the way up. He ended up reappearing again in the same spot he was.

I think now they are starting to go up and remove some of the bodies. I think I read something about some guy that has been going up just to remove bodies, basically just pushing them off some cliff face so they fall near the bottom.

Do the bodies/skeletons break apart from the fall?

No idea. But as frozen as they are I think they would break. I think there is this area called the rainbow valley because they dump all the bodies there and you just see all the bright jackets and gear.

All the bodies are in an area called "The Dead Zone". The air is so thin, you have to bring your own oxygen with you. Even with the oxygen, your body is extremely weak. If you are too weak to carry on and collapse, your climbing buddies leave you there to die. Trying to carry you down to safety has a high chance of killing them as well, so might as well reduce fatalities down to one.

I believe there has only been one successful rescue from "The Dead Zone", and that only happened back sometime around 2014.

Most body "recoveries" are really just pushing the corpse off the path into a ravine so that other climbers don't have to see it. There are a few instances where cairns are made if there are enough rocks present. Rarely is a body completely removed from the mountain though.

It doesn't help that there is this popular sentiment in the Everest climbing community that fatalities should be left on the mountain so that the mountain can serve as their grave.

Why don't they just invent a drone with an air thickening machine under the propeller

They can just strap a scuba tank to the drone so that it always has its own readily available source of air available.

The Nepalese government is putting up the money for the cleanup. Mt Everest has been a sacred mountain to them for millenia, even before the first European climbers showed up. If you look at the lower base of the mountain, there are Buddhist prayer flags and other monuments.

Many have said they don't like the idea of their mountain covered with trash left by climbers, nor do they like the idea of climbers deciding that their mountain should be a grave to fallen climbers. It's a prickly topic for the Nepalese. On one hand, climbers hiring local guides helps with the area's economy, but it also desecrates the mountain. So the government decides to just clean up the mountain every so often to appease those religious locals who hate the tourist industry.

However, there are some asshat wealthy climbers fighting this because they view it as sacrilege to remove a climber's body from what they see as its final resting place.

Then there are other climbers who'd rather have a decent burial for the fallen climbers instead of having the bodies being burned like refuse. They donate their own time and money to try to recover and claim bodies for the families of the deceased.

I think it's not that they dump the bodies there, but it's a really easy place to fall and so you see the bodies of all the fallen climbers.
