The Washington Post published an article from experts that said that if these spiders in AUSTRALIA banded together..they could essentially CRUSH the population of humans and EAT them!!

The research revealed that they could eat every human in just a YEAR's time..

Kane Christensen said "If they all ganged up, they could crush us"

The weight of all food eaten by the world's entire spider population in a year is more than combined weight of every human on the planet

The findings from Martin Nyffeler and Klaus Birkhofer published this Science of Nature Journal earlier in the month and said all spiders combined consume about 400 million tonnes of meat and fish each year

The total biomass of all adult humans on earth is 316 million tons..

There are so many spiders in Australia already that they outweigh humans.

There are more spiders in the world than humans although it's unlikely spiders would start eating humans as it's not in their biological nature...but that doesn't mean they can't!!

Fortunately, spiders don't want to destroy humans and are generally just fine with us as long as we don't interfere with their local residences.

I'm surprised there isn't some spider version of that Birds movie though (i.e. some plot involving, well, all the spiders actually WANTING to kill everyone for some reason). Seems like a good B movie way to pop out an easy horror film.

There've been dozens along that premise, not even counting the ones where the spiders have grown in size. Usually it's a collection of deadly spiders somebody was keeping for no good reason which get loose and decide to get humans.

By not being soft. We have a low tolerance for stupid and simply wouldn't put up with a bunch of little spiders waving their fangs about without giving them a good slap.
That said, we'd be more likely to invite them to sit down for a beer and not get uptight about the whole thing.

As for humans, there hasn't been a (recorded) human death from spiders since 1979 (ignoring one case in 2016 which isn't 100% confirmed).

Anti-vemon and a general understanding of 'don't mess with these things' goes a long way.
