ok I figured we could use a little chaos so here we go. There's a bunch I could have gone with for Glassjaw but let's do a deep dive. Such a great band, and they just came out with a new album that is fantastic. This youtube version I found has like a minute of nothing at the end, but the whole song is in there. I suppose I can talk about some songs for now, better to split it up than jam them all up on like Sunday/Monday and lose interest in writing stuff about them
The Gun Club - Give Up the Sun I think this tries a little too hard to be an epic with its slow accelerating pace which I don't normally associate with post-punk. That said, it's a solid track, the vocalist's voice almost reminds me a bit of a mix of Jim Morrison and David Byrne, and I found myself enjoying the ending of it quite a bit. Give Up the Sun isn't the catchiest of slogans but man does the guy give his energy to make it sound like such. Glassjaw - Jesus Glue Decent riff at the beginning, their vocalist and session reminds me signficantly of bands like Deftones and A Perfect Circle, which I approve of significantly. I was worried that the song was going to plateau, but then all of a sudden the bridge happened. The breakdowns seem a little bit forced, but apart from that, excellent song. If I'm not done with rankings by Sunday, then I'm leaving. This isn't a challenge to you all, but it's more a challenge to myself to invigorate myself to talk more about these songs. If I'm not holding myself to some sort of standard, then I don't think I belong here. --- Warning: I'm literally VeryInsane. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Always thought this song was an underrated track on Plastic Beach. Goofy, fun, and unique. It doesn't necessarily give me any particularly strong feelings, but it doesn't hurt either. Simon Phillips - Upside in Downside Up Pew Pew Pew Pew Pew Pew Pew Pew Pew.... Pew Pew Pew Pew Pew Pew Pew Pew? WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW DOW WOW WOW WOW Ok this song actually is pretty decent, it's an instrumental that starts off as like, boss music and such and then has this jazzy middle and then closes with a guitar song.... I feel like it's a bit too cheesy for my tastes, but I can see some users potentially voting for this at least. Sucks that his house burned down! --- Warning: I'm literally VeryInsane. ... Wrabel - The Village this was pretty terrible. the music was extremely boring. also, i usually don't give songs shit for lyrics (unless we're talking about, like, hip hop), but it annoyed me how blunt the lyrics were. good message, but i like for my protest/"message" songs to be a bit more subtle about the point they're making than this. Give Up The Sun - fun post-punk song, Pierce is a charismatic lead singer. I just like hearing him say give up the sun over and over for some reason.
Superfast Jellyfish - catchy and funky at the same time, super good album in general. Upside In Downside Up - quite enjoyable, very pleasant to browse stuff to. I think in general I like the drummer ones you post, I think the very first week of this you posted a drummer one I liked, or it might have been week 2. Obviously this has a bit more with guitars and such but still primarily based around a drummer. Colourless Color - la roux is always fun, and this is no exception. Think I like the verses a bit more than the chorus but all of it is enjoyable and smooth. Suck - really dig her voice, especially when she does the falsettos. Song is simple but effective. Tee Time - this is fine, I pictured Schroeder from Peanuts going hard playing this on his piano and the rest of the gang dancing like crazy. The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia - I have a soft spot for Reba, I used to watch her show fairly often when I was younger. I'm not a huge fan of country but she's always been an exception. In short, eff the cops (and judges) The Village - very haunting but powerful. Especially love his vocals in the chorus, even for as simple as the chorus is. Verses have some choice lyrics too. Best Laid Plains - Really like the vocalist. That being said, I don't think the song does quite enough to match the potential of him. There's some stuff here and there in it but I was kind of expecting more from when I heard his vocals. Still decent. We're Not Alone - chorus is really catchy, and song in general is very much like Patton. Very out there, but still accessible at the same time. River Of Brakelights - backing beat and guitars are really interesting to me, there's a sense of urgency that's pretty cool. Julian has always been very talented, and this whole package he has created on this song is great. --- Lord have mercy on my soul, I've had a good run but I can't run anymore.
