The problem is outside UCF nobody deserved that 4th spot. I firmly believe if Clemson had lost, they would have still gotten in

I hope Clemson smash Alabama

Well, the committee has this strange love affair with Clemson the last two years where they act like their losses to bad teams don't matter.

Also, I dunno if we'd have gotten 2 ACC teams in, but maybe.

So, assuming that the SEC wins both games (cause they are totally going to), how does Auburn react to this?

They would be watching their 2 rivals who they hate more than anything in the world, play for a National Title after beating both of them.

I think the exact opposite will happen. Oklahoma and Clemson to win.

Also fucks sake, we are playing in Cotton . Was hoping for Peach. Be a pain in the was to get to Texas for it but Atlanta I'd have driven to.

Will probably go to the LSU/Notre Dame game though. That's a decent match up and I can walk there from my house

Nah I can walk to the LSU/Notre Dame bowl game at the citrus bowl. I can see the stadium from my house

Although I'm trying to convince my buddies to go to the cotton bowl anyway. It's only $300 for the flight and then like $100-200 for the game ticket

That was me with the Fiesta Bowl. Our house in Arizona was across the street from Cardinal Stadium, which is why I started working outside parking at that stadium.

So, unless anything isn't actually confirmed... we have 4 Big 10 vs Pac-12 matchups. My least favorite division vs my division. Now, my school (ASU) isn't among the ones facing off, but here they are.

Cotton Bowl: Ohio State vs USC
Fiesta Bowl: Penn State vs UW
Holiday: Michigan St vs Wash St
Foster Farms: Purdue vs Arizona

All Big 10 being listed first makes me REALLY want a pig slaughter of these teams. Trying so hard to not post my typical attitude towards Big 10.

Soooo it was pretty clear that Ohio St was #4, but alright. Ohio St has 2 Top 10 wins. Bama's only crack vs a Top 10 team was a loss, but the committee was still like, "that's alright, you're still in, right this way." They're only encouraging playoff expansion when they can't even get the damn teams right.

Ohio State basically experienced this year what Penn State went though last.
Though one of the excuses for PSU last year was that they only should have one Big10 team in the playoff. This year there are two SEC teams...

Well, I was wrong about Ohio State moving into the playoffs with a win

While it is karmic justice for OSU to be left out in the cold like this, there are like a million reasons why Bama shouldn't be in

They should be ranked not just below OSU, but probably below Auburn as well

The Rose Bowl would take the Pac-12's #1, but they're the semifinal this year. Of the 4 remaining New Years Six bowls, only the Orange Bowl had contractual obligations (ACC vs SEC/Big Ten/Notre Dame), so the other three bowls could be filled with anyone.

Usually better to send the Pac 12 champ to the closer locale. I can only assume this year's "Rose Bowl" is in Texas because Jerry World would make more money than the Fiesta Bowl...if that wasn't considered, then it seems pretty random.

Putting a fucking 3 loss team over a one loss team.

LOSSES ARE ALL THAT MATTERS.... everyone in this discussion wins most/all their games.

I would. Bama didn't have to play Clemson or Georgia. They lost to LSU but still have the head-to-head.

I would. Bama didn't have to play Clemson or Georgia. They lost to LSU but still have the head-to-head.

Bama also didn't have to play LSU on the road

so all three of Auburn's losses were more difficult games than any of the ones Alabama played, aside from their game against Auburn, which they lost

And the game that Auburn lost against Georgia was a conference championship game that Bama didn't even have to play, Auburn already beat Georgia earlier. A 1-1 record against Georgia's better than 0-0

The Auburn/Georgia game went very similarly both times, just the opposite way. Neither QB was capable of making a play once their running game was taken out of the game. That's been UGA's secret weakness all year. They barely make Fromm do anything if they can help it.
