I've been a Prime member since June 1 of this year. They keep failing to deliver my 2-day shipping orders within 2 days. Free 2-day shipping is the entire reason I signed up for Prime in the first place so if they can't give me that benefit, then it's worthless to me.

Today it happened again (an order that I was supposed to get today did not show up and has been delayed until tomorrow) so I got fed up and called them to find out why this keeps happening. They said it's "2 days from when the item ships" which is bullshit because I got an email after I placed my latest order saying it would be here today. Then I got an email about an hour ago saying it's been delayed by a day and won't arrive until tomorrow. The item didn't ship until yesterday so maybe if Amazon had shipped it when they were supposed to, this wouldn't keep happening.

I told them to cancel and refund me the difference of unused time. Spoke to someone over live chat, then over the phone when I submitted poor feedback after disconnecting, then a manager.

Out of the 3 people I spoke with, not one offered to do anything to compensate for the lack of service so I told them to cancel my membership. After several times of being told they can't do that, I finally got them to cancel and refund me.

The weird part is that none of the people I spoke to made any effort whatsoever to talk me out of cancelling. I've placed 48 orders in the past 6 months, spent thousands of dollars with them, and they didn't seem to care in the slightest that they were losing a high spend customer.

Most companies these days have entire departments dedicated to talking customers out of cancelling their services. Apparently Amazon is not one of them.

I do know Amazon has been having problems with this their prime shipping but you also need to remember it's the holiday season. This is the busiest shipping time of the year

Amazon doesn't need to compete anymore, so they basically stopped trying.

That's the entirely opposite experience I've had with them :\
I haven't had too many complaints with them but so far they've...

-Sent me the wrong CD in addition to an order I made (free CD woot).
-Sent me the wrong language version of a CD. They sent me the one I actually ordered and let me keep the wrong one.
-Gave me a fairly big video store credit because I pointed out that two episodes I bought of a season of a show were identical (one was wrong).

My friend ordered some $100 computer part that was late by like a week so he reported that it never came and they sent another one. And then the first one came >_>.

I mean their customer service has always been spot on in the past. Like glitteringfairy said, it is probably because of the holiday season, and it's probably not just Amazon's fault.

I've had an order placed 6 months ago and it's still "We'll get you a delivery date as soon as possible" type response sitting in my active order(s) page.

Will see if I can get another 50$ free Amazon credit for the trouble (Cause it's the same exact **** as last time)

Yea after I got a Capital One card and built some credit I now get mail from various credit card companies trying to hook me now.

This is like twice a month.

Back then I didn't have credit to save my life.

I also get mail from people trying to shake me down into taking small loans.

I mean if I can pay off a loan then I wouldn't have a need for a credit card.

I never bothered with Prime because living in a densely populated area, there's enough two day shipping offered it's not worth my time.

Just shut the fuck up and be glad that you can get anything near two day shipping for free.

Us people living in Hawai'i (and Alaska, etc.) have to settle for standard 5 day shipping unless we wanna fork over half of what we paid for the product or more.

they need to change the guarantee to 3 days if it keeps up missing on dates. though last week it was more of a delivery service problem. UPS was really late (9pm late) and the delivered to the wrong house i had to walk outside and look at the next porch over (was my package of a game). only wished they look at the apartment number (there's more than 1).
