After the playthrough of Pokemon Sun one year ago, Twitch Plays Pokemon will be doing a playthrough of Ultra Sun. I forgot to make a topic before the run started, so I missed the first few hours of the run. However, there is a video showing the first 2 hours of the TPP Ultra Sun playthrough:

TPP ended up choosing Popplio as the starter, so it'll be interesting to see if they either release or permanently box it. Currently, they are still on the first island.

TPP has now caught their Rockruff, but it's in the PC since the game is currently set to have all Pokemon sent to the PC when the party is full. Attempting to withdraw Rockruff runs the danger of releasing or boxing Brionne.

Brionne is very close to reaching level 34 which is when it will evolve. It will be interesting to see how much effort TPP puts into preventing Brionne's evolution from happening.

The evolution was stopped almost instantly, as people started spamming B's when they saw the level-up on the stream. As a result of the stream latency, this means the flood of B's happened around when the evolution would have started.

They did it, Brionne ended up evolving at level 35 after the failed attempt at level 34. The level-up happened during a trainer battle, which meant there was a lot of A spam going on. By the time the first B input was made, it was too late into the evolution process to stop the evolution. They also succeeded in teaching it Sparkling Aria.

I don't think we've had a Tyranitar in any of the major runs before.

Anyways, the Larvitar evolved into Pupitar and the Alolan Vulpix has also evolved too.

Ultra Necrozma has been defeated. Only Alolan Muk and Primarina were even able to survive a single attack from it.

TPP is now doing the Elite Four (not sure if it's their first attempt at them). Their Pupitar also evolved into Tyranitar sometime yesterday before they reached the Elite Four.

Man they're just blowing through this, the exp share has made their team way too strong and the touch screen controls make things too easy

We were making steady E4 progress last night...

I wake up this morning and we give up on the E4 and are back hunting through wormholes.

all this futile wormhole hunting, we finally get a legendary, and someone runs immediately out of the wormhole.

TPP just encountered Regirock through the wormholes and were trying to catch it at full health using regular Poke Balls. Of course, they ended up running after a few attempts.

I really dont want that ugly thing on the team.

They wanted to put Poipole on the team, but failed to pull it off. Just before getting Poipole, they managed to change the options to "Manual" where they can choose what to do with a Pokemon they receive/capture when the party is full. So when they got Poipole, they came really close to sending Primarina to the box so Poipole could go in the party. However, Poipole ended up getting sent to the box. After this happened, they were able to change the option back to "Automatic" again.

Right now, they're fooling around with the Battle Tree. They were doing more wormhole hunting earlier today.

As a result of Wonder Trade, most of their team has been traded away. The only Pokemon from their final team still remaining on their team is Tyranitar.

The stream has a countdown timer for when this playthrough will officially end. We have about 1 day, 10 hours remaining before the playthrough ends and they go back to playing Pokemon Battle Revolution again. This would give us a total of 14 days spent on Ultra Sun.

Huh, looks like the playthrough ended earlier than I expected. I knew they were getting close to completing the entire Pokedex (that's 806 Pokemon, which doesn't include Zeraora) when I made my previous post. After looking into it more, it looks like they completed the entire Pokedex which would explain why the playthrough ended earlier than expected. Zeraora isn't available yet, so it's not possible to trade it online (making it impossible for TPP to obtain).

Right now, they are playing Super Mario Maker on the 3DS while waiting for Pokemon Battle Revolution to return in about 17 hours from now.

I know this isn't relevant to anything listed here but since I have not heard about TPP in a few years I just want to say.

A few things turned me off from it.
The first one was when they added Democracy, but that was not the deal breaker.
The deal breaker was when the person running the channel decided to go straight into gold/silver. If he had made it a yearly event I feel like it would have more hype around it. I know that I immediately was fatigued after red/blue and had 0 interest of doing it again. I also felt bad that he didn't get a sub button or donations till after the initial frenzy.

You have people catching pokemon and setting up trades with themselves. So you have like 20 people all playing for the same game at once.
