I stopped using my car for about a week or two and my car wouldn't start. So I got it jumpstarted and it worked for one day. The next morning it wouldn't start. I tried to jump start it again and it didn't last long.

I wiped off the battery acid around one of the battery posts.

I haven't jump started it but do you guys think I'll need a new battery?

Sounds like it... even if something is causing the battery to drain prematurely, that sounds like its done.

Yea, if it's not holding a charge, your battery needs to be replaced. There is also the chance your alternator is broken and incapable of charging the battery.

Just take it out and take it to autozone or one of those kinds of places. They'll test it for you.
