Poll of the Day > What was the game/s you played for X amount of hours without a 10+m break?

With todays poll, it got me thinking back.

2001- Final Fantasy 9 for at least 10 hours.

2015- Monster Hunter 4U for 8 hours.

Probably a lot, since it only takes a few minutes to use the bathroom and, if you're taking a crap, you can always bring a handheld device in there or, in the case of pc, your laptop.

In general, the whole 10m break thing is kind silly.

I dunno how that happened tbh. It's mostly reading and puzzles though, so it's not that strenuous.

You too, eh? Final Fantasy IX set my lifetime record for a single gaming session - 52 hours. Of course, I was much younger and healthier then!

tbh, it happens because it's the weekend and you don't have shit to do so if you're enjoying doing something you're going to keep at it.

When Digimon World for the ps1 came out, I think I played for close to 3 straight days minus sleeping and eating, this was during the summer and my dad came into the room and said "Go outside, you've playing that all day for the past couple days, go play." and I was like "alright", turned it off and went visiting lulz.

Team Fortress Classic was the first game I ever played through the night until morning, so there's that.

I also sat and pretty much played Final Fantasy 7 over the course of three days. So there were a few stretches there.

When Digimon World for the ps1 came out, I think I played for close to 3 straight days minus sleeping and eating, this was during the summer and my dad came into the room and said "Go outside, you've playing that all day for the past couple days, go play." and I was like "alright", turned it off and went visiting lulz.

When I got Pokemon Blue, I pretty much played it 24 hours straight and even forwent sleep although I very briefly tried to sleep.

The longest inplayed a game with no sleep and only work and bathroom in between was three days. I got mass effect for $20 and it's all I could think about lol I got off work, popped the game in got immersed, look up had to go to work again, came home played etc etc. Never got close to doing that again. Oh and I didn't do any kind of drugs. I completely straight edge then.

Pokemon Alpha Sapphire for almost 10 hours. Got a shiny Staryu out of it.

I don't know, since I usually only play games for an hour at most at any given time.

Even so, 12 hours is exceptional for me.

Maybe it's because the puzzles are so hardcore.

Always happened to me with the Suikoden games

I beat The Order: 1886 in one sitting.

Resident Evil 5.

The day we bought it, a buddy and I co-op'ed it. Played up to the second-to-last boss in one sitting, over 12 hours straight. Had we realized that was the end of the game, we probably would've powered through. But it was like, 9 in the morning at that point.

Super Mario Kart (SNES)*
Super Mario RPG (SNES)
Donkey Kong Country 2 (SNES)*
Street Fighter 2 Turbo (SNES)*
Donkey Kong 64 (N64)*
Banjo-Tooie (N64)*
TES V: Skyrim (PC)

And likely many more

* Such a stretch most likely happened the day I got the game.

Ragnarok Online (mostly during double experience weekends)
Phantasy Star Online
and maybe the original Sonic Adventure (didnt have memory cards available when the game was out, did 3 play throughs without the ability to save)

The most I've probably ever played without stopping is most likely around 4-5 hours. Can't imagine doing much more than that.

Probably gonna say the worst was Dangan Ronpa 2, though I can't quite remember exactly how long. I know I pulled an all-nighter getting through the final two chapters of the game, so probably at least six...?

this is easy. Civ without a doubt. I'd add in a slew of other strategy genre titles but Civ easily stands out in my mind

My 10 hours started in the morning after eating some cereal. I only stopped after the 10 hours because I finally got hungry. After food and a phonecall with a friend I played 3 more hours and then went to bed.

Yeah I know, I picked the between 12-24 hour option. If you want an exact answer I can't give to ya, probably 16 hours or so, this aint no competition to me, I was just saying the longest I played a game for.

More reasonable. Actually more like me nowadays, except I take breaks to nap because now I struggle with chronic fatigue. I was 14 when I set that lifetime record; I couldn't do it now (at 31)!
