yeah, though there's one time a filler arc literally interrupts a main arc while reaching its climax. It's mostly skippable, but it does give some more stuff into kaiba's backstory.
About the other series, they are widely different in tone with each one, with zexal and gx starting out lighthearted but getting WAY darker later on, 5ds being more "mature" in general, arc v's is....weird (though tbh, this series pretty much flopped near the end, and it has a really long arc that feels like wasted time afterwards), and I haven't watched vrains, so IDK

is that when they go to VR? That shit was so random. I liked how after it was done, Kaiba literally said something like "Now that that nonsense is over, let's forget about it" Even though his brother just got trapped forever in VR iirc >_>

The original series is still great, as are the movies that went with it. GX and 5D's are pretty enjoyable too (GX a bit less so due to Jaden being obnoxious) but you'd have to finish them subbed because their dubs were never finished. Zexal was mediocre at best, but has its moments.

ARC-V got off to a great start then became literally one of the worst and most hated anime in the entire history of anime after episode 92. Seriously, 9 of the 10 lowest-rated anime episodes on Nico Nico Douga (popular Japanese streaming site) are ARC-V episodes, and the only one that isn't from ARC-V is there due to being broadcast without any visuals. The second half of ARC-V was an irredeemable dumpster fire that would even make the Cleveland Browns say "wow, what a dumpster fire that is!"

VRAINS only just started subbed this year and hasn't even started dubbed yet, but 27 episodes in, it's been pretty enjoyable. If it stays on this pace and doesn't shit the bed like ARC-V, it could challenge 5D's or even the original series in overall quality. But then again, we said the same thing about ARC-V...
