Has anyone else tried it out yet? It's like... really fast.

Really fast, but has used over 10GB of RAM on occasion.

I'm planning on upgrading soon. Unfortunately, only two of the extensions I'm currently using will be compatible so I'm not looking forward to that part.

Impressive at breaking all my extensions. Actually made me downgrade. I really, really, irrationally hate the zoom button they added to the address bar.

No Script is supposed to get updated by the end of the week. The lack of an update is one of the reasons I'm still holding off on upgrading.

is this the thing where all of the tabs are black now?

The only thing I don't like is they moved the refresh button to the other side of the address bar

I think you can move the location of the refresh button.

Classic Theme Restorer is the only real big one I'm missing. It apparently can't be update to work with the new Firefox. No Script would have been another one but that one is supposed to get an update soon.

And the home button. It's kinda distracting how everything's suddenly different and I didn't get a say in the matter.

Really easy to change that. fixed that in the first minute of using the new firefox. just right click the bar and choose customize.

NoScript should be available by the end of the week, yeah. I've been using uMatrix as a replacement in the meantime.

As for CTR, I didn't use it myself and I don't know what specific parts of it you care most about, but if it's mostly the visual stuff, you might consider checking out https://www.reddit.com/r/FirefoxCSS/ or similar and tweaking userchrome.css to your liking.

Tried this. With the new Firefox, none of the userchrome.css changes actually stick.

How does it compare with Chrome? Does it auto-update Flash?

Is "don't use flash" an acceptable response to your question?

Either way afaik it doesn't auto-update, but I was under the impression Chrome actively blocked flash.

Performance-wise, prevailing opinion seems to be that it's on par with Chrome at worst aside from on Youtube (where I'm pretty sure google intentionally makes design decisions to force it to run best in Chrome) and Twitch (which is a poorly coded piece of shit platform that you shouldn't use in a browser at all)

https://streamlink.github.io/ and https://streamlink.github.io/streamlink-twitch-gui/

Chat stays in the browser (www.twitch.tv/streamer_name/chat) if you want it.

I've been using both programs (or at least livestreamer, which was streamlink's predecessor) for years

I use Firefox on my work laptop and yeah, this is a pretty huge upgrade there. That laptop is a steaming hunk of junk though so I'd be curious how it works on my home PC, but I'm way too entrenched in Chrome there to bother testing it.

In all honesty Firefox is just my porn browser and I don't think I could actually switch from Chrome at this point either, I was just surprised that it actually lived up to the hype. They seemed so confident that it was faster than whatever browser you were previously using and while I never thought of Chrome as "slow" it definitely is compared to the new Firefox.
