My wife really enjoyed it when we saw it together and she knew nothing of the games prior. But she likes fantasy stuff like that. Building them up in town, before LFG was a thing. After enough runs, some of the randoms I picked up would become regulars. We would add each other to friend lists and ask if they felt like running whatever heroics whenever. It was relatively easy for me to get PUGs together because I was mainly a tank (Paladin) and I could solo tank most of it. The lack of a real damage reduction cool down really made Prince Melchazzar a wall for my tanking for a long time though. I was also my guild's only Ret Paladin too, so I would have to respec a lot. The only good thing about the movie was the Orc who was the leader of the Frostwolves ~~and they ended up killing him~~. Players enter this keep and defeat Kael'thas. They take one of his spheres as proof of his demise, but when they present it to the leader of Shattrath City, an image of Kael'thas appears and begins mocking them. He states that Kil'jaeden will return and we will all bow before his might. Turns out that Kael'thas didn't believe Illidan was going to honor his promise to give the elves a new source of magic. Addicted to the fel magic Illidan had already offered them, Kael'thas began speaking with Kil'jaeden. Kil'jaeden promises him great power, so Kael'thas abandons Illidan and joins the Burning Legion. Kael'thas is nursed back to health by a shivarra demon named Priestess Delrissa. He returns to Silvermoon City and reinvigorates the Sunwell with some stuff I won't go into here. He plans to use the Sunwell as a portal to bring Kil'jaeden into Azeroth, but he doesn't get to see that when it happens because we defeat him again. As far as vanilla, 10-20 million? The game peaked at like 12-15 million iirc. My guess is at most, 5 million will come back to check it out.
