It's for the best. Seymour is not popular. He'd never win, despite Tidus winning he has infinitely more chances to do it multiple more times than Seymour does once.

Anyone who isn't in the Vincent faction.... you should totally join the Vincent faction...

Vincent now occupies the seat that Kain occupied for most of the contest up to this point where he basically needs a late rush to survive every round, but hey, you never know! Hang around long enough and eventually things might break just right for him like it did for Kain.

As someone who's been supporting Tifa from the start, they're pretty independent factions. I mean, I'm a Barret fan and I'd be glad to help him if I had the leeway (and I helped him during the CRY year after Ramza went down), but I haven't helped him very much this year and neither have the other Tifa savers.

And he'll never get a better finish than 8th.

He increased in stats, really all I can hope for. He literally got 0 votes not from my doing this round, so people wondering why he didn't last longer probably should start saving him.

Yup only ff7 character I'd save other than Tifa is Vincent and Cloud only at the final rush compared to whatever is left, that's it

Seymour's first and second runs in this contest are about as different as it gets. He only had one finish in the upper half and never finished higher than 30th before getting booted with a next to last placement. Since he came back, he's had three top 25 finishes, including a top ten, out of seven appearances and has finished in the upper half every time. With this performance, Seymour increases from 57.02% to 58.35%, but he falls just short of passing Beatrix and stays at 33rd place overall.

When you isolate Seymour's Old and New Era STATS, it's even easier to see the difference. In the New Era, he increases slightly from 71.13% to 71.44%, passing Vincent (for now) for 18th place. In the Old Era, Seymour was at 45.27%, between Ashe and Rufus for 49th place.
