i agree that taking away the assistance they need isn't the answer, but at the same time we need some way to encourage people to become self sufficient.
its also fucked how we completely strip away any and all benefits the second someone becomes employed. Giant_Aspirin posted... i agree that taking away the assistance they need isn't the answer, but at the same time we need some way to encourage people to become self sufficient. the issue with work requirements is they are based on the false assumption that people will stop working in order to get them (public assistance benefits) but the vast majority of households on public assistance already work, and those that don't have a variety of reasons for not doing so (school, caretaking an elderly family member, disability) JuanCarlos1 posted...
