Why do you think this is about science and it not being a terrible agreement?

We don't need to dump our money into other countries to combat climate changes. We're already one of the largest contributors to emissions, so why would we not just use our own money to fix our own problems?

Who are the three biggest contributors to emissions?

China
US
India

Who pledged more than double the contributions to the agreement than anyone?

The US.

Who is completely absent from the contributions list?

China
India

So basically China and India are in the climate agreement, but have refused to pay a dime for it. I would rather we take the billions from the agreement and put it toward fixing the emissions problems in this country. If Germany, France, the UK, etc. want to give their money to China and India - fine.

Because the Oompa Loompa doesn't believe in climate change and is publically opposed to the idea.

But sure, trust him like a useful fool. We're the only country in the world.

It's a good thing you rebutted my argument so soundly. Otherwise I wouldn't have to work so hard.

On a per capita basis the US has donated a relatively measly amount. Don't worry though, we will now be doing nothing.

Among the latest projects: development of irrigation and groundwater replenishment systems in northeastern India, where climate change has made monsoon rains less reliable; a hydropower plant in the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific to eliminate diesel generators; and restoration and protection of Ugandan wetlands that are used by subsistence farmers.

But no, it's all about

It's typical of Conservatives to claim oversimplification while ignoring blatant realities.

Coal is reaching obsolescence, the entire industry is dying. It's just one of the many many things the US is stuck on.

But again, the problem is the US will do literally nothing now.

Arguably, the country is still behind it but the foolish orange manchild you managed to elect thinks he knows better...sure, there are a shocking amount of scientific denial but it's not as much as it could be.

And the destruction of other countries' land isn't fair. We contributed to this problem and we're obliged to help fix it.

The US is deciding to do literally nothing about it and that's not fair. Not the science denying president, nor the science denying EPA. This country is currently deciding to continue profiting from it and fixing nothing.

Not sure what you're going for. Would you rather have us claim to follow it and then clearly violate it like many of the other countries -- especially China -- do? The Paris Climate Agreement was a meaningless compact so regardless of whether or not a nation agrees to it, the thing doesn't mean anything.

Ultimately it's always the US fronting money. We've been the world's piggybank -- to our great detriment -- and it's long time to ease back a little.

Actions speak louder than words. His picks have been actions, those are words. Moreover that is dated 2009, this is dated 2012.

How does no one in this topic know what the Paris Climate Agreement is? Every country in it makes their own goals, and there's no mechanism in place to force countries to do anything. The US wouldn't have to give anyone any money for it. It's an almost symbolic agreement where countries are just saying "We'll do what we can to fight climate change".

Next time, educate yourselves with facts instead of Trump's tweets.

Climate change is not something one country can fix. WE ALL need to pull together and stop the planet where WE ALL live from becoming uninhabitable.
