I disagree, and I'm not about to start lambasting people over gossip. People read into things as they want and it would be incredibly naive to start believe everyone having a pop about something currently. That isn't to say he's innocent but that time will tell, and right now everyone's falling on their own swords trying to be the bigger person. I'mma let the dust settle.

also keep in mind these accusations have been floating around for a while now. yeah he's "owning up" to what he did now......... after spending multiple years calling the victims liars and avoiding any responsibility. only now when he's in a position where he can't deny it anymore I guess. he's just trying to make himself look relatively better than the people who are ignoring the bad press.

it's been proven that power fucks with people's heads. it gives people irrational confidence, which is a good thing if you're trying to get stuff done and not let people tell you no

but you can see why that is a problem when it comes to things where you actually do need consent

Why does he need to apologize in this public statement? He's directly apologized to these women privately and unprompted before the article even surfaced. This isn't his apology to them, it's his public statement about what he's done to us.

the average person does not know that he did reach out to some of these people, for one

but mostly, it helps us feel as if there's some genuine remorse or contrition if a person actually apologizes, rather than dancing around it for 500 words

So, the girl in question went on a crusade last night. She started off by saying "I will find it (the proof) and I will destroy you"

which wasn't the best start.

She then posted a string of screenshots of her booting up her old computer and then finding a few things, including an old picture of Jesse Lacy that she uploaded in 2011, and correspondence between her and an email with jesse's name in it from 2007 and 2009. Both dates would have her above the age of consent.

This, combined with the fact that her character has come under question by at least a dozen credible witnesses, is making me think her claims are off base.

The second girl who accused Lacey, Emily Driskell, had a consensual relationship with him while they were both of age. She also leaked Jesse's nudes without his consent to a revenge porn site. If anything, the sexual misconduct is on her, not Jesse.

More on the first girl, it is coming out that she would try to prey on every band member that came through Buffalo, trying to get back stage and hook up with whoever she could. She had posted pictures of her text messages with many different band members. One of them with the caption "One of my latest victims :)"
