1. Aging actors and ballooning contracts.

2. Thanos.

1. This is causing costs to skyrocket. Actors are going to need replaced and as Spiderman, many have a hard time reconnecting to a new actor in the same capacity.

2. Thanos has been built up so much and is such a large threat that after him there is really no way to make a satisfying villain seem credible afterwards.

Well 2 is easily solved by letting him do what he did in Infinity Gauntlet

I would add

3. An unwillingness to go outside their comfort zone and break their so-far successful formula

Obviously not as dire an issue as the first two, but I feel like down the line we're going to see this issue get worse and worse as people get burnt out on the MCU

You can already see it starting I think. Marvel's had two major movies out this year, but the most talked about blockbusters are Logan and Wonder Woman. Last year was the Incredibly expensive and hyped Civil War, as well as Doctor Strange, but it seems Deadpool's had the biggest lasting impact

after Infinity War they'll probably try to move forward with who they've got and let the people who need to go go.

They're constantly successfully introducing more characters, so a hypothetical Avengers 5 could succeed without Iron Man or Captain America or whoever else wants to move on.

and now that they have the Skrull rights they might do Secret Invasion as the next Avengers which would be a significant enough threat to be interesting even after Thanos, I think.

Listen, if you just give me Thanos, the heroes beat Thanos at the end, and then we start off with Thunderbolts in the movie after, I'll be happy.

I don't think they have the balls to give us Thunderbolts though.

Marvel also has the same problem Disney has shown with star wars. They continually reveal things down the line that spoils their movies before they happen.

While you're right about Wonder Woman, I haven't seen Logan be talked about any more than other movies other than "This is good" right when it came out.

As maybe the only person in the world who has seen both Logan and WW and none of the MCU movies... I preferred Logan.

Wonder Woman has insane talk for a movie that was decent for DC standards anyways. I don't really think it was as good as most of the MCU movies. Probably better than Thor 1-2 at least, but that might be it

Last week we had a poll here between Logan and The Dark Knight as the best superhero movie ever

and it was about tied

Logan has been talked about like crazy, that thing had a lot of impact.

As a DC mark I actually thought WW was a bit overyhyped, but it definitely left more of an impression than Guardians, even though that movie was solid. Spiderman had a similar issue of being good but suffering from overhype, and Thor seems to be doing it too.

The only freakout superhero movie that deserves all the praise it got was Logan.

I know at least part of the WW talk was that DC finally didnt drop the ball on one of the dc film universe movies >_> even not having a well it was okay BUT tied to it was a good step.
