Lol. Well.....personally when I get a game that I really get hooked on, I admit that I may forego things and activities in order to play it. But I wouldn't go as far as to say that I'm addicted to it. Maybe when I was a teenager during vacation; well yea.

But now though...not really. My game isn't going anywhere and I can just play after I finish all my errands and duties. I may sacrifice some things for it but for the most part, no.

technically I could quite whenever I wanted. doesn't mean my happiness in the long run wouldn't be affected though so i'm definitely not going to choose to quit them, i've been forced due to circumstances in the past before. I went like half a year with little to no video gaming and what little I had was dig dug which while a fun game gets old fast when its all you have access to.

If you have to say to yourself that you are "able to quit any time you want" you probably have a problem with whatever you're doing.

doesn't make it any less true if you are legit being honest when saying it though. I used to smoke weed. and i've quit and restarted several times. sometimes it was because I couldn't afford it. but at least once i did drop it literally just cause I wanted to. I turned 21 and my logic was why bother with something illegal if I got a legal alternative (booze) which that i've quit by choice before too. I still drink to this day but I quit for a period of time any time I feel like its starting to negatively affect my life. the one time that stands out the most was when I was digging under my bed for any possible pocket change I could scrape up to just buy one drink, it hit me that it had become a problem and I tossed the change back on to the floor and said fuck it. didn't drink again for several months.

now harder drugs than both those, i've quit altogether and never looked back. it just wasn't worth the strain it was being on between me and my friends/family

Well since almost every good friend I have made was through video games, and since most of every other form of entertainment looks like a rock by comparison, I'm not going to ever quit playing them. As far as fitting in with society yes, I could definitely stand to play less. But I have a full time job, a house, and a car. I'm also pretty comfortable being single too. DON'T JUDGE ME MAN!
Some people watch cars go around in circles hundreds of times, but do I judge them??? NO! (only slightly.)

Not really. If somebody accuses you of being addicted to anything -- no matter what it is -- that would be a normal response. It's more a reaction to outside pressure than some unprompted claim.

I straight up admit I'm addicted to them. Granted if something is really important that takes precedence, but I don't even like going one day without gaming.
