Wait, they actually put a new Pokemon movie in US theaters?! They've all been direct to DVD here since like the Ruby/Sapphire era.

Man, that movie was awful. Why didn't you guys convince me not to go see it?

Okay, I guess it wasn't that bad. It was around the area of the other Pokemon movies. Didn't really live up to its potential. The plot made absolutely no sense and just meandered about. Random things would just happen and be immediately brushed over. They included the entire plot of "Bye Bye Butterfree" without it fitting in the overall story, which for that matter is mostly original so I don't know why it's advertised as mainly being a retelling of the original series. The animation was nice though. Except for that one time where they animated a CGI woman walking down the street for no reason.

The weirdest part was in the ending where Pikachu talked. What the holy mother of fuck was that about?! The movie totally lost me there. The entire theater burst into laughter when that happened. With that and the bizarre dream sequence where Ash enters the real world I was completely mindfucked before the thing was over. Also, who the hell goes out skateboarding in a snowstorm?
