His wife is a miserable shrew. Hell, that is being nice actually. The better term would be to call her a c***. She does everything she can to make it so he has no life. She flips her shit because we hang out for an hour or two each day. His wife is insanely anti-420 so he comes to my place instead. He can be at my house and she will send him 300 texts in 5 minutes. Then she won't believe him that he's at my house and will have to do video chat with her to prove it (this happens at least 3 days per week).

Her and my wife are friends. My wife even says she drives her nuts. All this woman cares about is herself and her mother (she would leave her husband without hesitation if her mother told her to and she's 28...). She believes that she is at least a little bit in love with him but she's with him mostly in the hope of being in a better position later in life. She literally is trying to tell him to move back to Europe for a year or 2 so he can save money and give it to her to buy more land. She doesn't care that that would mean him missing the birth of his first child and the early years of his/her life.

The last little while she has been stressing him out so much that he said fuck it and went to a soapie massage place to hate fuck a hooker. Doesn't seem like he regrets it at all. I honestly can't say it bothers me and stuff like that usually does. If she was my wife I would have dropped her ass years ago and wouldn't have surprised me if I cheated on her.

Dunno. I was friends with him before our wives became friends. We did our TEFL course together. They became friends afterwards, my wife over the last few months has really seen her attitude and is tired of her shit as well. She bitches to my wife about him just as much as she bitches at him, and she doesn't really like me because she definitely thinks I'm a bad influence. Before we became friends he just stayed home all day and played video games. She's not a very social person and it was bloody murder to get her to go anywhere even once her and my wife became good friends. Now he goes out, he smokes (only because he couldn't find before, not because of me), etc and she doesn't like him having his own life.

To make things worse, by marrying her he basically married her mother. She would never leave her mothers side. Both of us have said he was stupid, even to his face and that was before they got pregnant but he loved her. But since she has become pregnant things got even worse. Refuses to go anywhere because "it is dangerous for the baby" while 5 weeks pregnant. Even more argumentative and has even threatened to kill herself because he went out to a bar with my wife and I for dinner and a beer (reggae place we go to like once per week). She even is trying to get him to go back to Europe and work there for 2 years so they can save more money to buy land. Doesn't care if that means he misses the first year and a half of his childs life.

Even my wife's family has said the same thing. He is always in a bad mood because of her. It looked like at one point it was going to end. I had a friend come over, it was a girl. Some how she found out about her, showed up, with her fucking mother and caused a scene in front of my house for over an hour. Was calling the girl a hooker, saying she was there for a 3-way with us, told me she hated me, etc. Refused to leave until the girl was gone, even if he left. It was pouring rain so she had to wait for a ride.

It was fucking crazy. Neighbours saw it all, told my wife's aunt. They said the same, the girl is crazy. That's exactly how she is. She says exactly that at least once or twice per month when we go to that bar. We usually go for no more than 2 hours... She went to a wedding a week ago. It was like 60km away. She was supposed to go the night before to get ready. Instead, she decided she didn't trust him to stay on his own for one night. That's when he said fuck it and saw one while she was at work this week instead. She brought it on herself in my opinion.

I also think my wife would agree and side with us. Like 85% but I'm not willing to take that risk of having WW3 break out in front of my house. My wife has even joked about us taking him to Sadao where they have a bunch of Go-Go's and soapies. His wife would never allow it or go. Told her if we did she couldn't say a word and she agreed. Still not willing to take a chance on this.

As a person who was battling some pretty severe depression and, at the time, had every right to be and likely was a top candidate for suicide, never even considered it. I love my friends and family, I'd try and talk them out of it... But at the end of the day, it's not my life. I can't live it for them, nor take responsibility for their own actions.

An opinion shared by the man himself, multiple other people in our circle of friends and from being in direct view of it and seeing the hundreds of text messages per day she sends to my wife. And it also isn't my place to judge someone on what they decide to do. It's your life, do as you please. I was the one who initially tried to warn him off and went as far to tell him that if he was going to do it at least don't shit where you sleep (get one in some fucking city hundreds of km away where there is no chance of the hooker or anyone else noticing you in public and ending your marriage immediately. In the end it's his decision and don't have any positive feelings for her as a person so I couldn't be bothered to give a damn.

I can't fathom for one second (based on what you've said) how he ever got involved with this woman or remains to be involved.

This isn't a haha women can be a little controlling thing. It's way more serious than that. This is straight up serious emotional abuse. Him cheating on her seems really petty compared to her behavior towards him.

Not sure what to say or recommend except for him to just accept whatever loss to get away from her. You've certainly outlined this as a pretty no win scenario for him. Doesn't sound like he can have much of a relationship with the child if he leaves her, but it doesn't sound like there is any good to staying with her beyond the child.

I'd also be worrying about her mutilating his genitals in his sleep...

The committing suicide thing came after being pregnant which made that worse. Don't believe she ever threatened that before, just divorce. And like I said, things pretty much did become worse once we became friends, which was around the time of their wedding. Not because I was forcing him to do anything, he just finally had a friend here with similar interests and she is very anti-420 which has been about 30-40% of the fight starters. She was happy when all he did was sit at his computer all day and then sit with her the rest of the day when she was home.

About a month ago my wife said "now I know why she has no friends, she is just too much. Needs to accept it, shut up or leave him". My wife isn't a huge fan of me smoking but also knew I did long before we met and has never once asked me to stop. She's more worried about some of the archaic laws here more than anything. If back in Canada she wouldn't care in the least.

Guess I don't understand. He married her and they decided to have a child. He needs to hang out with you a couple hours a day. He even was going off to a wedding with you and was going to spend the night. He comes over to your house to hang out with you, your wife, and another lady. Nope I don't understand why she should care about that stuff.

I guess it might be easier for her to do all the house chores with him gone. Guess she wouldn't need to fix meals as he could just eat with you and your wife. She could probably get the nursery ready by herself. She's probably nervous and scared and excited to be pregnant so it's most likely a lot easier to do this alone.

Maybe, and this is just a guess on my part as I don't know her, but maybe she'd like to be the focus of his attention some. Maybe her mom is giving her some support while he supports you? Maybe she wonders what will happen when the child is born or if she will raise the child herself. Good thing he went to the massage hooker for sex because I'm sure she would not have enjoyed snuggling him and being close with him or spending time with him.

Good thing he has you in his life. He can hang with you instead of being with this terrible woman.
